  1. he's gotta be one of the best vfl recruits of all time an absolute star ugh
  2. eh, chalk me up as another 'puddy tatts are the form team of the competition if they beat dingley' believer it's DISGUSTING
  3. maggots love the filth
  4. As opposed to outsiders like Pert, McNamee, etc.? Regarding Vlad, does calling us ‘irrelevant’ and then coming back to save us count as an inside job? I couldn’t think of any job Vlad would less want to do Imagine being the poor flunk who has to tell him it’s time to sign off on his AI-penned open letter to members
  5. this is why he's 'okay' as a media commentator and a mildly successful coach he took over a team that was premiers and runner-up in the two preceding years, took them backwards year on year before a bounce in year 7, then dipped down again
  6. didn't hurt us at all in the first half of the season when we completed the 'business trip' to adelaide and then beat a then-undefeated cats in a thriller at the g what happened after that? boy oh boy wowee did the wheels fall off clayton's second efforts thus far this season have been better than trac's for mine
  7. yes, amazingly, the top tier players get treated very differently that's the case at every footy club if someone like jvr was behaving like jamara, i would expect he would be treated very differently to how oliver was treated too
  8. why do we assume that goodwin wasn't reaching out to the petracca and has, prior to the last month or so, been rebuffed? he's not petracca's family - he's his coach the stories around the petracca family's approach to their son's career are plentiful and they sound like they require a lot of special care and attention
  9. i can't believe people are comparing jamara to clayton one is a promising man-child and the other is a 2x aflca champion, multiple b&f winner, and a premiership player
  10. she's another player scathing about pert tho; plenty of those both at the dees and at the filth ultimately, birch took the path that petracca wanted - it was all going south and she walked away; when the going got tough, as an experienced player she walked out and went to the best team in the competition
  11. i'm not convinced horse longmire will coach at afl-level again, and if he does i suspect it'll be tasmania not melbourne of the devils / demons variety it surprises me when people say beveridge is tactically rigid - with family of family being mad footscray fans, their biggest complaint is that he throws the team around TOO much, experimenting with players in different roles etc. to the detriment of team balance and surety of player roles some of the moves work - i.e. richards from half-back into the midfield (equivalent of rivers for us) - and others obviously don't (daniel from half-back to half-forward, playing macrae anywhere other than in the midfield) what's interesting to me is that those two 'failed' moves were tried for 2 seasons and then both players - who were on significant contracts - were traded for perceived 'unders' in order to get their hefty contracts off the books he and goodwin are pretty similar in my books - very much relationship-based coaching styles
  12. would be a good result for us
  13. Willie Rioli goes WHACK on Dingley
  14. grown up supporting the club, immediate opportunity to be part of long-term future, significantly behind the pecking order at gc17 isn't that always the case tho? being part of the ais squad is a great start
  15. told ya :P (i stopped watching at the end of q1 - what happened this time?)
  16. to you mebbe by comparison, i don't have any issues with it
  17. Tis good theatre
  18. Butters makes such a difference for the pear He’s a gun
  19. Started when they appointed Clarkson mid finals series, escalated when they poached junior Burgoyne, exploded with the finals series last year The clubs genuinely don’t like each other
  20. Eh? This rivalry actually IS organic The players and the clubs genuinely don’t like each other, dating back long before Hinkley / Ginnivan / Sicily
  21. Any report on how he went today?
  22. meth coke: premiers in 18, made finals in 2018-19 for 1 win, 10 wins in 2021, 10 wins in 3 completed seasons since, 0-5 to start 2025... mfc: premiers in 21, made finals in 2022-23 for 0 wins, 10 wins in 2024, 0-5 to start 2025...
  23. eerily similar - they were premiers in 2018, finals in 19-20, 10 wins in 2021, then 2 3 5 wins in 2022-24 respectively we 100% have done plenty to bring in youngsters tho - since the premiership we've picked 6 1st round picks (2 tall forward, 4 midfield types), and had success with mcvee as a rookie selection it's much more than meth coke ever did
  24. petracca for him in a straight swap; who says no?
  25. in the same way that i rated salem at the same age - he looks promising (better than langford, for mine), he has clean disposal, he runs to the right spots... ...but we're going to have given a helluva lot up for him at the end of the day so he better end up as a superstar and / or toby sinnema and kalani white become similar and we get them 'cheap' we gave up a lot to get lindsay and tholstrup, so we need them both to become genuine a-graders not solid citizens
