  1. based on these highlights it's hard to see him not being afl-ready it's also hard to see him lasting until our first pick
  2. a hayden young / trent rivers alike? i likey!
  3. based on the scant highlights i'd say jagga smith most resembles jack macrae, albeit in a smaller frame, or darcy parish he's a high possession player and will, like those guys, go top 10 and be denigrated by some / praised by others for his consistency and quality depending upon the eye of the beholder he certainly gets a LOT of the ball, and that's half the challenge
  4. i don't think we will have traded up to get pick 9 (which will be 11 if ashcroft and lombardo both get nominated for the queensland teams, which they should) to trade out of it unless the offer is significant 13 and 29 (which will be pushed out to at least 16 and 30-something following further bids for kako and marshall) simply is not worth it for 11 11 for 16 and 33? no thanks
  5. i hadn't even thought that draper would slip to 5 the handwringing on here when we take an sa and wa kid with our two picks is going to be ever-present
  6. 5 and 9 Methinks 6 and 11! 🤪 I have little understanding of the kids coming through other than the chatter around them and the highlights videos, plus the underage games watched mid-year I love the idea of Langford and Tauru in those spots but would be just as happy with Smith and Armstrong or Smillie and Allen Seems to be a complete raffle this year
  7. that may be how we as supporters see it, but there's no doubt he's looked at as an emerging leader at the club if you hear players and coaches talk about him
  8. whatwhat say what replied to Demon17's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
he was part of both administrations tho...
  9. hasn't been the same since hurting his knee in rd 1, 2022 we need him to play a key role in our side as he is, quite frankly, a key playmaker if he's not able to maintain fitness for a full season i have concerns over who will take his role - as seen in the 2021 season, we're a helluva lot better team with salem at his best
  10. just engaged! he might be undersized, but he's our #1 forward 2024 was one of his poorer seasons since becoming our key forward circa 2020, and he STILL kicked over 40 goals in a side that finished 14th he looked like he was carrying an injury this year; we need him to bounce back in 2025 and get up that 55-65 goals per year
  11. rivers, mcvee, and probably sparrow are the youngsters who seem to be looked on as the next generation of leadership
  12. poor markelle
  13. i think when a club delists a player with the promise that they'll re-draft / rookie list placement there's a tacit agreement between clubs that there won't be any poaching taking place of course, it bites you in the derriere when a player then becomes a free agent when next out of contract and with their development having moved them into a best 25 in yr squad, ripe for the poaching...
  14. here's hoping he returns to the player he was pre-hamstring in 2023
  15. great hands, good at ground level, and a beautful kick for goal expect big things from him in 2025
  16. gonna be a ripper his get up and go is magnificent
  17. 19th team? arguably nothing 19 and 20th team? broadcast rights value
  18. he seems to relish playing as the second ruck it gets him involved in the play and he loves the hurly-burly of the contest
  19. his on-field leadership was incredible in the first half of the year his off-field leadership in the back half of the year left a lot to be desired
  20. the afl has no interest in reduction of teams expansion is the focus - where the 20th team will be is the big q i fully expect it'll be a third wa-based team, despite the push for nt to have one of their own
  21. more likely to expand to 20 within a decade than it is to contract to 18 once the taswegian franchise comes in
  22. i'd say a mid-late second round, high third round pick same 'value' as anb, jj
  23. lovely to have some clear, concise communications from the club
