  1. if i adjusted yr side and added those 5 plus mentha and sestan, who i think show afl-level attributes, it could be... B: McVee (21) - Petty (25) - Moniz-Wakefield (21) HB: Windsor (19) - Adams (20) - Bowey (22) C: Sinnema (17) - Langford (19) - Lindsay (18) HF: Petracca (29) - van Rooyen (21) - Chandler (25) FF: Turner (23) - Jefferson (21) - Mentha (18) Foll: White (17) - Oliver (27) - Pickett (23) I/c: Langdon (29) - Rivers (23) - Sestan (20) - Tholstrup (19) Sub: Prasad (16) that's a decent side, missing a key back and - sigh - a key forward
  2. add these three: Sinnema (17) - on the wing White (17) - ruck Prasad (16) - forward pocket personally if yr expecting langdon to play on given that oliver and petracca are both contracted, you might as well add them too we've got the genesis of a fairly decent team
  3. having a generational player like darcy land in their lap as a father-son has been a big part of that what i've been impressed by bevo's work in the last couple of years is to transition lobb into one of the best defenders in the competition and to take lachy bramble from an also-ran into one of the best rebounding defenders in the competition and this is even without jamara becoming the player he promised to be even as recently as last year due to a myriad of...issues
  4. is it really taking that long? pert announced his resignation at the end of october - that's not even 6 months ago most ceo hunts take longer than that; i was at a company that had a temp ceo for about 15 months not too long ago, got the new bloke in, who promptly burned everything to the ground cos he was so bad at the job better to get it right than wrong
  5. what a load of tosh as per above, it ain't for want of trying!
  6. more likely from the comeback loss against us late last year it's been reasonably well expected for a while that he wasn't leaving; was just a question of how big the deal was to get him to stay turned out be big!
  7. some very soft frees for gc17 - north players aren't allowed to put any body pressure on the ball carrier at all, it would seem
  8. clarko has them building nicely, much as dimma has gc17 doing similarly as they both should - the amount of assistance they've had dwarfs what we had in our 2007-2015 incarnation
  9. north vs gc17 an excellent game of footy to watch while missy elliott rips it up on coachella main stage
  10. (double post)
  11. sounds like a pebkac error are you on pc? integrated kayo on smart tv? apple tv? no matter what, definitely hit the "jump to live" button and it'll be about 30-45 sec behind
  12. waterman another key forward that we've chased in the last few years and not been able to get across the line: ben brown - 3 year deal that really was washed midway thru the 2nd year taylor walker - refused to leave adelaide for family reasons tom lynch - felt he owed it to the tigs jake waterman - used us to leverage a better deal at meth coke plus the high level talent we've tried to add to the midfield / defensive run: adam cerra - didn't have the assets to get the deal done dan houston - spooked by our cultural fit / unwillingness to not use the pick that became langford not being able to get more than 1 of these 6 targets has been a major issue
  13. i love gc17's pink guernsey they should wear it instead of that red monstrosity
  14. can only assume it was a juicy scurrilous rumour then
  15. putting a full stop on trade targets?
  16. i expect we'll struggle to kick more than about 8 goals, and they - particularly zerrett - will run all over us peptides by 7 goals
  17. proper key forwards are so, so hard to find
  18. the filth going the boundary route has worked well; limited damage bloods can do on the turnover
  19. we've been spoiled by having the greatest ruckman of all time preceded by all oztrayan rucks in jamar (who joined as a rookie), white, and of course stynes perhaps kalani will be our next
  20. obviously a huge part of their future over the next, well, seven years has played in 22 wins, 1 draw, and 89 losses
  21. dear was a father-son pick and always going to dingley
  22. tex didn't want to leave adelaide (the city) and lynch felt he 'owed' the tigers to stay given the way he joined a premiership side and all their other premiership players were walking out
  23. the real toffs in town - pure filth https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/never-talked-about-this-the-power-struggle-that-moved-a-collingwood-great-to-tears-20250324-p5lm4e.html
  24. crom ain't even made finals with a rankine dawson, keays, cumming, keane, peatling as yet (but they surely will) danger, cameron, and smith were the hallmark recruits of the puddy tatts' 2022 flag, while smith looks like being part of their finals team if they make it this year what, drafted them? that's jvr / el jefe and turner - a first rounder and a speculative pick (although i think walker was actually an academy selection?) i love that there seems to be this belief that bringing together a premiership side, and then after a premiership, is so easy we tried for tex, we tried for lynch - both said no it ain't for want of trying to bring in class
  25. bassett was well regarded at the pear
