  1. i, too, can make up fanciful trade scenario with no basis in reality...
  2. mfc confirms two reviews being conducted; one by Darren Shand, brad green, and gary pert into the footy dept + one of the board itself by an external independent expert (they don't say who), involving the president and all current board members
  3. sigh i miss raymond much, much better show than "barry"
  4. depends on cost, i suspect if it's the equivalent of a straight swap for tomlinson, i'd be super keen
  5. Paul Hopgood better put on his big boy shorts cos the president's job is his if he wants it?
  6. Smith, Macrae, and Daniel all wanna leave Footscray? Something, something, something… Kulcha?
  7. I think people will steer clear of Ladhams because of his personality and behaviour
  8. houston would suit us to a tee, i think, but seemingly he's ruled himself out of leaving...let's see if that holds til the end of the trade period i just don't see parfitt and macrae in our best side but i imagine the former will be be available as a delisted free agent and the latter a late pick if yr prepared to pick up his entire salary; issue being that they're not that quick and their skills are mediocre at best - with the game moving from 'contest and defence' to 'skill and speed' they simply don't suit the transition game that we want to execute and wouldn't be in our best side if we maintain the style that saw us be successful lynch is on huge money for the next few years, and his body has let him down for the last several years; caveat emptor indeed ladhams will struggle to be on an afl list in 2025, while membrey might be a shot for us but does another mid-sized forward target actually improve us?
  9. sad that there's no more frostball in 2024 interesting to see how the hok ball restructure their defensive set-up in 2025 and beyond with the addition of barrass and battle coming into their 'best' side those two plus frost, sicily, scrimshaw, weddle, blanck, grainger-barras is a lot of tall defensive types when, really, their best set-up really only has two or three of them
  10. Yea, poor bloke https://www.hawthornfc.com.au/news/1596554/lewis-ruled-out-for-remainder-of-season
  11. Coming off an acl and unlikely to feature much in 2025? Unlikely
  12. At what point did I say that I was remotely interested in Hind?
  13. my suspicion is that pert will go some time into the 2025 season, not prior to it i don't understand why smith would WANT to come on to the board and be president if he's that exhausted from his long legal career; will he be actually motivated to enact change or is he simply coming on as a last resort for the club? i love the way these players / officials always meet in the same places; catching up at philippa's for a croissant is hardly out of the way - now if you'd told me that they shared a snag out at casey watching the aflw then i'd be genuinely shocked
  14. as opposed to those that bowey was subbed out of? my point stands - to my eye they play similar roles and having similar statistical outputs we don't need two of them, and certainly not a significant wage as a 29 and 30 year old
  15. near identical... https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=12&playerStatus2=A&tid2=8&type=A&pid1=6851&pid2=4073&fid1=S&fid2=S
  16. caleb daniel is reportedly on a heavily back-ended deal, $700-750k a year for the next two seasons his best position is as a running small defender who, well, doesn't defend that well cos he's so small i struggle to see how we can play bowey and daniel in the same side unless one of them changes roles
  17. pass on matt kennedy - he's not quick and his kicking too regularly fails to hit targets; we don't need more midfield bulls, we need players who can actually hit targets by foot and be damaging with ball in hand nick hind has been delisted by the peptides because he's in that 'too good for vfl, not consistent enough for afl' nexus zone of stringing 100 odd games together over the course of seven seasons at two clubs without ever cementing a role and being the selected sub for the majority of the last two seasons
  18. i'm not going to bother addressing the amount of negative projection going on in this post, but to answer the top bit, the prelim of geetroit vs gw$ / bears will be at the g i maintain that if the bloods don't win the premiership they've stuffed up right royally - their 2024 season has been as dominant as cats in 2022 and dees in 2021
  19. based on tonight it's a hard pass on mckay + cerra for trac
  20. as much as i'm not a fan of the orange franchise, they play great footy
  21. app has ah-mu as the leading goalkicker with 3 for stingrays in a 6 point win, and hynes 2 goals 2 langford another dominant game i presume, judging from the stats?
  22. bloods are in trouble
