  1. no, he was a restricted free agent which gw$ sensibly matched and forced a trade
  2. hey! i resemble that remark!! (minus the bald bit)
  3. the football is his hands sells it
  4. it was only a little over a decade that port adelaide was an absolute basketcase they regularly got less than 15k to their games at footy park their board and footy dept was a cluster of disaster boak and gray 'stuck fat' and were, along with daid koch as president and keith thomas as ceo, core components of turning that club around to being a well-run and settled organisation they ignored the media hubbub about hinkley's contract, backed in their 'kulcha' and processes to sort themselves out, and have been consistently there-or-thereabouts for the better part of the last decade yes, they haven't tasted ultimate success, but 2024 could well be the year that changes i don't think, as an example. the dees should be looking to the likes of the filth or the yankees as a example of where we aspire to be, but instead towards the likes of the pear stay calm, ignore the noise, carry on with the business of footy
  5. if they get him as a delisted free agent does that dilute their compensation for battle?
  6. i love that he's going from being a dees player to a pear player to a flagmantle player to a meth coke player...while still being a dees player i still think that, ultimately, if he doesn't want to be with us then he doesn't want to be with us at some point he's clearly going to leave it's all very upsetting
  7. zorko was phenomenal this year the one strange one to me was picking naicos out on a wing he definitely deserves to be in the team, but d'ambrosio was clearly one of the best wingmen in the competition in 2024 and a huge part of dingley's rise from nothing into being a premiership contender
  8. already wearing his dees cap
  9. the picks will be gone for bolton tho, not for koz morris sais meth coke are the ones targeting him of course, kornes says he's a pear player of the future where is roo? surely someone advocates for the crom getting him!
  10. think you'll find they're going to tigs for shai bolton, which has been in the planning for 12-18 months
  11. so morris says meth coke and the drop says flagmantle kornes says pear; who can advocate for the crom?!??
  12. they held the team together for three flags in four years with the first being seven seasons ago and have definitely changed, a lot, both on- an just as importantly off-field since
  13. our naomi's breakthrough role
  14. it definitely happens all the time in the states in their big sports i think it'll become more the norm here too it happened i'd say 20 years ago in the nrl
  15. had time for bite sized snackable content while making my bite sized toastie toastie not much to roffey's chat i thought - wouldn’t call it a train wreck, wouldn’t call it inspiring just very meh which, tbh, was what i was expecting
  16. i literally said 'my cousin who was listening's take on it' perhaps learn to read before commenting
  17. his form has dipped markedly from his best i think he'd be a good bit of depth and an opportunity to bring a multi-positional player into the wider squad however, i think jay is just seeing something at a distance and seeing if he squints it becomes any clearer to his vision
  18. i haven't drawn any conclusion as i haven't listened as yet; i will consume in a bite sized chunk as a podcast at 2x speed playback as hutchy would recommend
  19. from my cousin who listened to it: So Roffey hasn’t spoken to Trac for ages and there’s certainly no concrete plans for her and Pert to meet with him (pretty clear that Trac’s people aren’t interested). He’s so far gone.
  20. they'll put it up as a podcast at some point
  21. waste of time you know what she's gonna say? nothing of note; it'll be all "we are committed to Christian and Koz; they are contracted to us" blah blah blah give us a Caulfield update or stfu - she's president not football dept
  22. if he wants to go back to sa / wa...then he wants to go, but it would seem clear to me that if we can get the deal done then it'll be sooner rather than later i think we're all mature enough to realise that, at some point, he's going to want to leave melbourne (the city) it will no doubt be at same stage during this current contract - he'll want to be 'settled' in a home state before his first born starts school, you'd think, which will be around the time of the current contract expiring
  23. what i like is that a lot of the media narrative has moved into the 'gawn as aa ruck' as a lock after the end of the season all the same medja nuffies were talking up xerri or cameron or marshall (who, in the end, wasn't even nominated in the expanded 44-man squad) it better be his 2024 was PHENOMENAL he's the greatest ruckman the game has ever seen and he will be duly rewarded with a record 7th all oztrayan blazer this evening
  24. unfortunately, probably the best we can hope for
