  1. Financial and age. He needs a contract over 800k/yr, at least 3 years. Are the dons really doing that? Paying him in top 5% of players, really?!
  2. We are light on for talls. Joel Smith should be sub IMO.
  3. And we tried hard to trade multiple high picks for Bailey Humphrey last year as well
  4. They have a tough run home including Ess away, geel home and away, coll home, freo away and another showdown. We will know a lot more about them in a few weeks.
  5. We have been having too much travel and short breaks in recent weeks to start loading before this week. The next three weeks seem well set up for some higher conditioning loads.
  6. Seen a bit from Richmond fans about their young players but even though they were missing a few, our side was easily younger than theirs (25y 202 days to 26y 129) and less experienced (by 173 games). Nank and Broad would have been useful but the presence of Lynch may well have encouraged more high balls into 50 which is usually to our benefit. May generally does well against him. Jack Graham is mediocre. I think the effect of their outs has been overplayed.
  7. Adelaide’s pressure is excellent but gee Freo have looked bad so far. Jackson has had a couple of moments where he just misses having the quality midfield to give it off to.
  8. I watched the full game and Howes did play well. He was very neat, I expect his disposal efficiency was high, but lacked dare with his possessions. A lot of uncontested play out of the back half and most of his kicks would be been short chips. Regardless, it was very good signs for the future. Tomlinson was a clear BOG. McDonald next best IMO, excellent contested marking and was aggressive in playing on (which didn't always come off but I think it is how Goody wants them playing). His kicking was off early but improved. Monro was typically excellent. Typical Dunstan game (plenty of ball but wasteful). AMW and Sestan had their moments. Laurie played confidently. Great game for Jefferson but he is still a long way from AFL level due to his lack of strength. Smith and K Turner were pretty good without standing out. Adams has a long way to go IMO but had a few nice touches.
  9. This was pretty much my thesis for thinking/hoping that they might miss finals. A few more injuries and they’ll be in trouble. Surely they will take care of north this week though.
  10. Anyone got access to this? Did Collingwood I think they got unders for Henry, Grundy or both? https://t.co/tjNE8n8fU3
  11. I am a fan of CW most of the time (she gets it wrong on occasion like everyone) and believe the footy landscape is better for her presence. But she is so one-eyed it’s ridiculous!
  12. I read somewhere that either Haw or Ess went after Maddie Gay but it seems that she knocked them back.
  13. Lol Brodie was drafted the year after Clarry, why would we compare Brodie’s last year to Clarry’s 2nd season?
  14. Port will improve this year (JHF, Rioli) and suns are getting closer but can’t really argue with the rest
  15. Freo’s best team are certainly top 8 (and higher) quality but I’m feeling optimistic about this pick as they traded out a fair bit of depth. I can’t see them coping well with more than a couple of best 18 injuries. Hopefully they will have a 2019 Dees-type run!
  16. It held less than 8000 people and barely any seats. Completely inappropriate. Suck [censored] Brisbane
  17. I am obsessed with her. Such a gun!
  18. The AFL.com.AU reporter for Brisbane is a fan-boy. It’s bordering on unprofessional.
  19. That is a shocking fine against Tayla Harris. The ball was very much in dispute (TH was barely a moment later than her opponent), she approached the contest how players are taught to and very little force. Absolute joke
  20. I don’t think Freo will make finals next year (Losing Mundy who was still playing well, Logue finished high in their B&F, Acres, Tucker, lose Lobb or he’s super unhappy. Other clubs figured them out in the second half of the year. They are very young and any injuries will really test their depth). So I think their F1 will be a top ten pick. The F2 from North will probably be one of the first picks of the 2nd round in a stacked draft. If it’s anything like previous years those first few picks on the second draft should become super valuable. Throwing back a F2 would be stupid I agree on second thought, an F3 would be fair.
  21. Agree that deal is absurd. We must get in 13, their future 1st and north’s future 2nd. We could throw back a future 3rd (or future 2nd at a stretch)
  22. This. I really want their future first. They are losing a lot of their depth and seemed to be found out by the rest of the competition in the second half of the year.
  23. Agreed. Had a terrible first half and looked lost. Seemed to not know where to run. Does he usually play wing/forward? Done a couple of good things since half time though, one beautiful kick at half back.
  24. Too expensive to have on the books. I’d give him away for peanuts if another team will take his contract. Still may have some AFL quality football in him and I’d wish him well should he move on. Seems like a quality guy
