He is also hopeless.

Sydney’s backline tonight on the team sheet: Blakey Melican Wicks Roberts Rampe Paton That’s incredibly weak. Blakey is a gun, Roberts and Rampe are good and the others are plodders. Hawks looked good but won’t be getting too worried about them yet. Also, very short injury list. Hate them so I really don’t want them to be good again.

A cyclone making landfall so close to Brisbane at this time of year is extraordinarily unlikely. They have nothing to explain.
-
Except there is another player we have that Freo want who also has a long contract…
-
We have overcorrected. Not enough chaos now. Ball movement really suffering without Koz. It is not as bad as the scoreboard given the several easy misses. But Freo are clearly a class above. Opposition players are going to start deliberately leaving Billings open in F50, he is that bad at kicking for goal.

I’m also interested if there are free spots
-
Score?

I’m not able to watch but been reading this and thought we were 5 goals down. Get a grip people!
-
Should beat us comfortably. They are pretty much full strength.

I think people have their head in the sand if they think he doesn’t want to leave. He clearly does. Where there is smoke etc. But we don’t have to cave. He is contracted for 3 more years. He is only 23. His value to the club is huge - he is a fan fave. He is happy with the club itself and this is not the first time he has had homesickness (for WA, rather than SA this time). We know that his family is well supported in Melbourne (sure, he would probably have better support in WA). And he seemingly only wants to go to Freo, which is very different to Nibbler and Houston. His mates Walters and Narkle will probably be done at Freo this year or next. And what does Freo have to offer? Two picks around 15-18. No thanks. The club simply has to make a stand and not cave to the media. Keep supporting him to stay in Melbourne happy, as he was when he signed the contract, with lots of opportunities to visit family and friends. I think Peter Rhode is his manager (?) so not in one of those big management groups who pressure clubs into dealing contracted players.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th February 2025

Throw AMW forward until Kozzie is back. He will bring the forward pressure we will need. -
Exactly. We can easily wait out his delisting. Plus Walter’s will be retiring soon.
-
Given he’s contracted to 2027, the West Australian are getting waaaaaay ahead of themselves. I do doubt that Kozzy will be a one-club player but we aren’t trading him at the end of 2025 with 2 years to go. Look at Harry Petty, things can change quickly. At the earliest, we could use him in a trade for Harley Reid when he comes back to Melbourne in 2 years. But only if he reeaaaally wants to go west. No way we trade him this year.

Good on them. I’ve always been a big fan of Maddi Gay and would have liked to have kept her but it sounded like she thought she needed a fresh start. Maybe we needed to try harder to keep her? Eliza West is just too similar to our existing mids, small. We couldn’t have known Purcell would miss so much of the season. I think she is a more valuable player to Hawthorn than she would be for us. Win-win trade long-term and short term if Purcell didn’t get injured.

Havana Harris is GC academy - filth no chance

Looks like it’s Lily Johnson. She’s a possible delist this year. Originally from Tassie

Agree. I’d love to see that again every year -
Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford

Great info. I’ve been watching a bit of him on YouTube and there is plenty to like. Things that stand out: - clean hands - nice stoppage craft and seems to almost always get the ball out when tackled which is impressive and may balance the speed issue - speaking of speed, he doesn’t stand out as being slow - excellent work rate, constantly making multiple efforts, this really stands out - VERY left sided - very very good mark for a mid - easily kicks 50m, kicking is good without standing out - decision-making is solid too - tough Will play round 1 barring injury -
I wouldn’t be sure they will end up with the pick after draft night. I suspect they might use it to try to trade back into the first round after Kako is picked up.
-
Poor take. We have been held back by injury all year. Give us Hore and Colvin and we would have comfortably taken them tonight. Eliza West player of the match?! Really? Bates and Fleming were far more impactful.
-
We are the team no one wants to play 1st round of finals. Problem is we won’t make it without pulling out our best qtr of the year against the odds. Ridiculous AFLW draw strikes again
-
This is our 4th game since October 9th...
-
Such a shame to lose Hore and Chaplin pregame as we just need that extra little bit of depth in this game. We will need to make it a grind and be more efficient in F50 to take the win from here. They will kill us if the r game remains this open. Also, geez Jas Fleming is quality. Not quite the level of my fave Hanks but very very good.
-
Every stoppage seems too open. Seems to really suit Hawthorn. Bring up an extra and congest/outnumber and I think we will get much more ball forward.
-
Just added that. I don’t feel like we are out of this at all but they do have the momentum
