  1. Heeney’s last quarter was unbelievable!
  2. It seems we lost by two points after a “late surge”.
  3. Very one sided umpiring to Hawks benefit
  4. Hawthorn and North both looking ripe to rise but they still have major holes in their teams. Hawks have Sicily and Meek, then a bunch of mediocre talls, while North’s defence is rubbish. They will both win lots of games in the next few years due to the quality of their smalls but it’s not easy to rectify those issues and it will cost them in finals. Much easier to rectify the issues with smalls that we have.
  5. Agree with most of your points there but wanted to point out that GWS weren’t that depleted. From their best team they were missing Coniglio, Kelly and maybe Cumming. We were missing Petracca, Salem and maybe Kolt, while Gawn was hampered. It was a good effort by the team and we only needed a little bit of luck to get that win.
  6. Exactly. The sky is falling brigade have no perspective. This is 2019 again. We will be back next year and beyond challenging as long as we play things right this off season. It’s a big shame how this year has gone because the season is so even. This year will be the weakest premiership team in years (yes, worse than the pies last year). But predictable, after losing Brayshaw and Oliver at 30% capacity.
  7. Crazy. He’s too old for 2 firsts
  8. Looks pretty proppy
  9. I’ve had a dislocated patella and almost complete tear of my MCL from someone sliding in below the knee. Injuries are common from that action. It’s a good rule.
  10. Nik Cox was a top 10 draft pick 😂😂😂
  11. We were down on talls this week just gone. I think we need both Petty and Fullarton in. Maybe Turner to sub.
  12. The unpredictability could be good for us early. Try to get the jump on them and see if we can hold on.
  13. Sparrow was the top and second top player on the ground for average speed in attack and defence. He ain’t going nowhere. Excellent work rate, clearly he is doing jobs for the coach
  14. Smashed in the midfield and in the air. Of the MFC listed, McAdams/Howes ok, Jefferson not involved much but good when he is, Brown smart when involved, not much else to say really. I’d take Henry Smith from the Lions. 21yo 206cm, has talent. Robertson or Lyons could be worth looking at as midfield role players.
  15. Umpiring and Schache are both unwatchable. If he is on our list beyond this year I will burn the place down.
  16. Sounds like he is getting close to a top 10 pick according to the AFL.com.au draft guys
  17. Howes is dominating this 3rd quarter. Very steady influence. Unlucky to have that beautiful goal cancelled by a free against McAdam. Laurie our next best. McAdam has played his role well but we can’t afford that ill-discipline at AFL level. Wouldn’t mind seeing him as sub soon. Impressed with Jefferson getting in the right spots and using the ball well. Brown has had some really impressive moments and also some really bad. Hunter and Billing’s have been deplorable and so hard to watch. Almost as bad as the umpiring. We should be way further in front but very wasteful in front of goal.
  18. The umpiring line up is pretty dire. Headlined by the worst in the league Williamson #22. Plus Stevic #9 who hates us and Stephens #12, and some other guy. Going to be a very hard watch.
  19. We don’t have it within us this year with no Trac and Oliver like he is. But Trac back, give Oliver a proper preseason, some new coaching ideas and a bit of intelligent list turnover over the offseason and we can def be back contending next year.
  20. Players like Phillips go cheap when out of contract, even though originally a high pick. 3rd rounder probably, or late 2nd. I think it would be worth a go.
  21. I think it means we still have to swallow just under half of his contract in the salary cap over the next 4 years. Farcical.
  22. Roos were out on their feet from early in that last qtr. As much as I hate Collingwood, I really envy their spirit. That was a very impressive comeback with so many stars out. But geez the umps got them over the line in the end. That non-50 was criminal.
  23. How was that not 50?!?
  24. He has been beaten more this year than I can remember. Is it worth trialling swapping him with Petty for a few weeks to at least pump up Petty’s trade value a bit? He is far more confident as a defender and May played forward as a junior I think.
