  1. If they think De Goey missing training after a bye and a trip to Bali is a better look than when the story broke then they've got some serious PR to do.
  2. Wow Winners, that is pretty darn cool.
  3. The last time I would have gone to the Baxter Tavern would have been when I was playing club soccer and we played Baxter FC at that ground in Flinders Rd. We suffered a cricket score drubbing and ended up there haha. Saw the Tatts and Angels a few times in their later years. The one thing you'd get from those gigs was a fun night that’s for sure!
  4. What an experience Binman, the one and only Warren Zevon! One of the smartest songwriters for sure and you certainly couldn't box him into one genre. Any other big acts grace the old Baxter?
  5. Does anyone remember 'The Run Home' with Dermott, Huddo and Matt Hardy the comedian? One of the first drive time shows on SEN I think.
  6. Well whether or not it has anything to do with him not being in line for selection at least he can now focus on his footy without this business hanging around in the background.
  7. Excellent observation. It seems to go in line with the way they motion ie free kick signal then arm pointing the way of the free. I do think it would clear up some confusion. I might actually give them the benefit of the doubt on this though, I'm sure there is some kind of reason for this.
  8. De Goey finished as a man? That's a bit strong isn't it?
  9. We need better decision makers in life
  10. We go again next week.
  11. Woo hoo, table!
  12. I don't know a lot about Auld's direct influence up at GC to know how well or poorly he did. From the outside looking in I think even Peter Jackson would have had a tough time there in those days but I do take your point. I thought his role in the fixturing in 2020 was a decent feathers in the cap. Where Peggy O'Neil is concerned that is true but to me the club president role is a place where you can do this and get the right people in. I'm actually a bit surprised how many club presidents have been linked to this job considering governance and management are two different things. You can definitively make the transition of course and a lot of these people have management backgrounds but if you're hiring for AFL CEO you'd want a bit more than an overpriced delegator in my opinion. Not ruling it out though, the bold moves can often spark progress.

That's pretty much my take on it too. It's annoying but will likely cop the $7. I actually just started a new phone plan with Optus so a little miffed at the timing but it's for all the improvement there's been. I demand this though Roy. No more mandatory 60 second ads! They have them even in 9 min highlight packs now. Surely a 5 second skip option at very least!

At the end of the day it's their choice, if they think boosting the matchday experience and entertainment is the way to go then boost away. I have my doubts though and unless they've got one of those big t-shirt guns that can shoot more fans into seats in the audience, then it's going to be a futile exercise.
  15. It is kind of funny how he absolutely needed to have a getaway to Bali during the bye when all accounts are he's pretty much on his last chance with the club.
  16. Fair example there. Do you reckon there's some scope with this La Dee-vina? Can it work in today's game?
  17. Well there sort of is, players could strike. Extreme but it is an option.
  18. Wow, under cover at least?
  19. I would love to see Gale or someone from club land get it for a change Demonstone. I'm just not all that confident it will happen πŸ™
  20. Ooh a suspended 25k fine! That'll teach him.
  21. Can't. Need to win, failure is not an option.
  22. I'm getting a bit tired of hearing these external ring in names. I don't believe the AFL is a place where you can step sideways into from another code or profession. Experience in this game at the admin level counts, just give it to Travis Auld and be done with it. I'm sure someone will come in and say something like "Yeah and that's done us a lot of good so far hasn't it?" To each their own I still think you need to know the game.

Too right Gorg, I remember even going to a Roos v Eagles game on a Fri night just to see those two go at it. Yes it was before all the live TV access we have now but it was something to do and it was fun night out.
