NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Yeah for sure, it can become a throw away line to say "possesions don't matter it's what you do with them that counts." With Parish I just feel he needs to add a little extra, it's a real value driven game now and a midfielder like that needs something else to set him apart. I thought he played a good game though.

The New TV and Media Broadcast Deal
Hopefully there's someone who knows more about this area but when streaming services acquire the rights to something are there any rules or guidelines that say the product (Whether it’s sport or tv shows) needs to be acquired as a whole or at least a majority of it? Or is this pretty much up to the rights holders doing as they please? To give an example of what I’m asking, most shows on the streaming services are available with all their seasons and tied to that one platform. However, I’ve noticed with a show like South Park you have the first few seasons on Netflix, the majority of the seasons on Amazon Prime and then every season Post-2020 on Paramount +. Is there anything preventing these guys from carving up the product and giving pieces of it to various services like this thus making it infuriating for the customers like us? Or could it all just become one big dirty free for all?

JAKE BOWEY APPRECIATION THREAD.
Couldn't agree more, he has no problem backing into a pack and nothing fazes him at all when he has the ball in hand. Thought he had a ripping game on Sun night.

22-0 or 21-1
The goal is always what gives you the best chance to win a flag and if it's between goals geared towards that scenario or aiming to go undefeated I know what I'm choosing. Sure you can go the Old El Paso route and try to have both but keeping things simple in the players and coaches minds is the most important thing.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
I'm always drawn to the hard runners who get to lots of contests so naturally I look at Parish's game as a decent one but he really didn't do much with it or hurt the opposition by foot. For a contested bull he had 15 contested possessions so it does seem like there were a lot of dippy dappy handball receives for him in his game. I'm a fan but he needs to evolve a bit with more effective kicks or a goal a game. Just something a bit extra than handball, handball, handball.

First Option
I think there's definitely more of a 'have a think for a split second and then choose the best option' mentality. In 2020 our push button instant reaction way of thinking was holding us back and now seeing us work through situations mentally is one thing that has taken us to that next level, even if it is just that split second extra hanging on to the footy. There's also more situations where we are thinking a few steps ahead and on Sun night I realised just how good we work as a team to get the ball out of dangerous positions down back with a handball to a guy who may not be in the best position to run and carry or sink his boot into it but he is able to get it on to the next guy who can. We'd be a great side to coach right now.

Effort Players
I reckon Jack Crisp isn't a bad one either.

Wright contests a lot with one hand.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Fair call, I find it refreshing when someone has a bit of swagger but theatrics can bite as well.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Say what you want about Ginnevan he seems to relish the big stage.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Of course but it's not often you see those numbers to Half Time either.

NUMBER 27
I can't remember who said it in the match day thread but they said he doesn't really panic under pressure when he gives it off. Spot on.

The Soccer thread
Plenty of football to be played as the wise ones say. I do think your Hammers are our best chance of spoiling City's party so I'll be blowing bubbles that day!

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
Definitely a lot of 1-2s and 20 handballs. Only the 9 contested as well. Needs to add something to his repertoire like you said or maybe a goal a game.

NON-MFC: Round 6, 2022
It would make a lot of us pretty angry Deever so don't be too hard on yourself. We don't know what was said either. Ugly, ugly scenes though. Don't want to see this behaviour at any sport event.

Parish 30 possessions to HT. Pretty good in anyone's book.

VOTES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
I hear you Dee fence and it's a fair point. Certainly wasn't suggesting you thought otherwise if it came across like that.

Yeah that's right, everyone makes a contribution.

VOTES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Yeah to be honest I do regret leaving Gawn out of mine, I have been lauding ANB's effort but in hindsight he probably would have made way for Max. That's what happens when you do your votes straight after the siren with a few frothies down the hatch..

VOTES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Questioning my inclusion of him in my votes is more than reasonable it's the 'shocker' part I'm surprised by. Anyone who understands the way we play our game would see he played a huge part in our structure when he didn't have the footy. We locked the ball in our forward 50 for a lot of the game. We had to because we were so fricken awful with kicking accuracy. On many occasions when the Tigers could have rebounded we worked relentlessly to put pressure on their defensive ball carriers. In games where you have essentially 'kicked yourself out of it' the only real way to win is with sheer hard work and pressure. ANB had 24 pressure acts, 24! Along with 27 possessions if that's seen as a shocker then I'd say we have a pretty darn good football team then!

VOTES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
In what way is 27 possessions with 13 contested a shocker? Pretty bewildered that 4 people liked this comment too.
