AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ
Still think Brander from WCE would be handy for us. You will get him cheap, that pick 49 we just picked up would do it. I see him as a tall forward option, hasn't really had a chance to play that role at WCE.

2021 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS 2021
Someone like Toby Conway should be around that pick 19, a developing Tall Ruck that we can take our time to develop.

Centre Bounce Analysis from Grand Final
We did the same to the Bulldogs the first time we played them. We got aggressive with our taps hitting forward and push the dogs under the ball. It helps that the 2 rucks we have can also win the ground ball in the middle. The dogs just didn't adjust their sweeper left the front open and we took them to the cleaners.

Petracca Back at It
What else you going to do in lockdown. AFL players are the lucky ones to be able to still do what they love doing. Petracca would be like a caged Lion locked up at home.

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ
It will be interesting to see what clubs strategies are in tis years trade and Draft period. You are taking the punt on a lot of young players that haven't played a lot for 2 years, not only the lack of games but also the training. Appreciate most will be doing programs but the lack of games and team training will really hinder their development. You are basically picking up kids on their U16 form and limited games this year

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I can see us moving up in the draft, something like Pick 33 and Future second round for GCS Pick 19 and Future 3rd.

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I hope Toby Conway gets to our first pick. We are in the fortunate position that we can draft a Ruck/Forward and develop him at Casey for 2-3 years.

Proved them wrong
If your a Journo with knowing the history of the club, the culture the club did have, you report and over state the issues as you see it. We did need to set higher standards, we needed to realise potential rather than boast about it. The club fixed it and we got the result, I doubt there would be many supporters that actually believed at the end of 2020 we would win the flag in 2021, the belief grow took a hit mid year and then gained massive momentum late. On culture, our club has made some good calls to turn ours around, one club that should have made a call after the last couple of years of turmoil and didn't is Adelaide. They have a young developing list, Walker should have been walked.

Don't forget at the end of 2020 season Gary Pert did his own Footy department review that was announced to media and Members, from memory a letter from Pert went out after we lost to Fremantle and Sydney. That review saw most of our assistant coaches gone and he added in Yze and Williams. We also moved Richardson into the Football Mangers that was split between him and Josh that lead to him leaving. The noise coming out of our club was we had a lot to fix, journo's just jumped on it. Gary Pert makes mention of this review in the below link https://www.sen.com.au/news/2021/09/08/how-a-post-season-review-helped-turn-melbourne-into-a-juggernaut/ It was a build, no one outside the club cares about the process they report on what they see, what they saw in 2019 and 20 was a club that had talent and failed to deliver, stock standard MFC soft culture, take the easy option of losing rather than dig in and in the past they would be right.

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ
Dogs need a heap of points in 2021 draft, at a guess they will need about 1600 points to cover for Darcy, they only have pick 17 with any points value, but still need 600 odd points to cover the bid or go into point deficit in 2022. Don't be surprised if Tim English heads back to WA, Freo's pick 27 or WCE pick 29 with some later picks might be enough. I can see him at Freo playing as Forward second ruck to Sean Darcy, our WCE get him in to develop behind Nic Nat

Proved them wrong
We are being critical of comments like this but this is exactly what the club did, same as the first article. All the journos were doing was stating the bleeding obvious, we had to become ruthless and stop accepting losing, we had to improve our forward line, we had to get the reward for ruck domination and had to improve our disposal and decision making. Guess what we did improve on all these areas and we get the ultimate result.

AFL Trade Radio
Did we do our pick swap in trade week as well? Bowey hasn't lost an AFL match yet.

Mac Andrew
The success of Luke Jackson as a Forward/Ruck will see sides wanting to add similar players, from all accounts this guy will play a lot like Jackson. Clubs copy the winning premiers formula you will see more Ruck/Forwards so guys like Andrew will be pursued by a number of clubs

Who’s going to fill the back pocket?
Look at the back 6 of guys that didn't Play Hore J Smith Turner Hunt Tomlinson D Smith Plus Declase can go back and I think Bedford spent time training with Defenders, also add in M Brown and Daw as break glass in case of emergency that can head back.

Delistings 2021
Didn't the this all change last year, you now have a total number of players, you need a minimum number on your senior list I think it is 38 and you are allowed a total of 44 excluded Cat B rookie. It is then up to the club how many senior listed and rookie players they have

Farewell Neville Jetta
Has he retired or just finished at Melbourne. The wording in the clubs post and his wifes post make mention of his time at mfc coming to an end not his time on the AFL.

Delistings 2021
It is a ruthless time, drinking with your team mates celebrating a premiership, next day off the list. D Smith plays the small defender role and can play

Thank you Mark "Choco" Williams!
The one think I have been overly critical of our players was our kicking, it was our Achilles Heal we just missed to many targets by foot, no problem winning the footy just massive issues especially going inside 50 by foot that lead to long bombs. Our field kicking has improved out of sight over this year, I thought Ben Brown would hate leading up at our mids based on our ability to kick the ball in 2019/20, he can now hit up with confidence. It isn't just one player that has improved it was nearly all our players. I have posted many times in the past that until we kick the ball better we won't win a flag, Williams has come in and we are kicking the ball a hell of a lot better. Any young aspiring footballer, needs to search up Precision Training Portal from Sherrin.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
They have a young gun forward that they wanted to develop and he started to deliver late in the season
-
Adam Cerra
Our side has added a number of players May, Lever, B Brown, Langdon, Hibberd, Melksham that have made us better and those players have added to the culture of the club. Jones has retired, Jetta will most likely do the same, AVB is borderline, TMac gets a new deal that we all expect is deferring some cash. We have a list that can have sustained success, this year is the start we want 5-6 years of finals and premierships. Cerra would be a great addition, he adds to our midfield and basically replaces Jones on our list. We don't need to add kids in this draft, trade picks get Cerra, elevate D Smith to primary list and get Woey Junior with last pick or add the other player from our NGA. It would be a different story if we thought we could get Mac Andrew as we would need points to cover, with that looking unlikely we can use future first and our first 2 pick this year to try and get something Dockers will accept.
- Collingwood helping Doggies to the tune of $300,000 this year, is that fair?
