Yep, which in turn decreases the need to be hospitalised and decrease the death rate. It is a virus that will be here and we need to learn to live with it, like influenza yearly shots to reduce the severity of the flu should you catch it. I find it funny, Dan and other premiers you won't be allowed to travel, get into pubs, events and sports if you aren't double Dosed, then you have AFL saying no to compulsory jabs. How will players play if they can't travel or get into grounds if the rest of us can't

Big difference from being the third or 4th midfielder in a team to have to step up to being the No 1 midfielder. WCE only had a handful of games this year with Yeo/Kelly/Shuey all playing. They have got big issues at the Eagles, no cap space and not much youth. Gaff has always been an old fashion seagull he has gotten worse over the past 2 years.

We have him on our list already, D Smith, he has the potential, moves really well and the games I saw him play looked very composed with the ball in hand with good skills. Still very raw, hopefully the club persists with him

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
drdrake replied to TRIGON's topic in Melbourne Demons
It is going to be interesting to see the on going effects of the last 2 years on any athlete from all sports that are 15-16 years old. Younger than that you have a chance to still get the body of work in you need but the 15-16yo have lost 2 years of really important development. -
2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

Bloody hard assessing players from Victoria, you basically have 2 years of little to no football. There was most likely more PSA football than NAB U19 football this year in Victoria. I liked Johnson from WA last week, really good size moved well and found a lot of the footy. The other one from WA was no 34 blond player in the middle. -
If we do go out, after a 30 day cooling off and sobering up period, I would be satisfied for the entire seasons performance. However, the bar has been raised, the standard has been set you can't cop a drop off in 2022. The club just can't take the massive steps forward this year and drop out of the 8 next year, we need and deserve an extended period of finals that will hopefully include a couple of flags

Yep but you need to read the fine print for essential workers only pretty tight on who qualifies for this or Compassion that needs to be approved. You still need 14 days quarantine test on day 3 and day 13. It basically means if you couldn't get a permit before you can't get one now and if you could get one before you now need to have a Jab to get in.

Didn't he crack it because he was asked to play the wing and he left to get more time in the centre.

Howe yep we lost out on that one and Frawley has done well but delivered Brayshaw. Hogan/Tyson/Trengove/Gysberts/Toumpas/Watts/Frost/Kent/Hannan/Preuss(in and out), not to many regrets with these guys. The only thing I would have love to have seen was Jurrah/Clark/Watts/Dawes/Aussie play a few years together. What a forward line that would have been

You watch Geelong swoop on this bloke. A massive back loaded 5 year deal and start to build a midfield around him.

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

We would have had a couple of training sessions a year for our NGA. Clubs when they first announced the NGA put some effort into them holding regular training but after the first year they realised effort V reward was little and reverted to signing a lot but not doing much. You might find highly talented kids would have been doing some pre-season training with AFL teams in their draft year. Clubs are cracking it due to the Northern states NGA, they get access to every kids in their allocated Zone. Look at Sydney, they put a lot of time into their Academy, Paul Roos was involved with this coaching, they have a number of senior good players that came from their academy. I think the AFL changed up the ruling for Gold Coast, they also changed all the Zones gave them more -
Spring, we are usually discussing trade week. Just on the sides, take out the NGA player we won't get and it highlights that the real area that needs depth is KPF. We are talking Maynard when really he is a bonus not a need as we have the depth in the backline.

It is a shame Geelong lost last week, would have been a good supporter based crowd if Melbourne played Geelong as both clubs have a pretty good supporter base in WA. You might see WCE supporters filling up the stands wearing eagles Blue and Gold booing the umpires every time they blow the whistle. I reckon if we make it there will be a big Melbourne supporter turn up for the GF.

There will not move outside the Olympic Park Precinct. Where abouts in AMMI Park are our existing change rooms and Footy department offices located

It's funny how people are defending TMacs game saying he took a defender which allowed the others to score, then slam Smith. He had a role that allowed Salem/Bowey/Rivers to be attacking, for May to stay on Daniher, for Lever to have no one on him Petty to focus on beating his opponent. As a defensive unit we kept the most attacking team to 60 points. I reckon both teams lost that defensive structure due to nerves in the first quarter, their best defender Andrews got caught ball watching and gave B Brown 10-20m space. Cameron had a great first qtr then wasn't really sited much after that.
-
I think the week off is well needed for Tom, he isn't moving well and a week off will certainly help him get over any niggles he has.
-
You wouldn't think there will be any changes. TMac needs to find his confidence real quick, he isn't moving well and he needs to, that is his strength. Optus is a big oval lots of space we need Tom at his best On Smith, take away Cameron's first 3 goals he didn't have much impact on the game. Be interesting if Hunt is fit but Hunt isn't a lock down defender.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
drdrake replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Our back 6 will only get better, we had Rivers, Bowey, Petty and Smith back there with May/Lever/Salem, that is 4 young inexperience players with 3 experienced players. I love how Bowey uses his body to move his opponent reminds me of Jetta, knows he is undersized so needs to make that contact to move players off the ball. -
Tonight was the best C Oliver has kicked the ball.
-
Tmac is the one that is struggling

Is this the best Demons side of the last 57 years?
drdrake replied to Cheap Seats's topic in Melbourne Demons
Two sides have made grand finals, win a gf and the answer is yes -
You don't want an Ed Langdon Clone, but adding a highly skilled outside mid is something that would make our team better. Ed is running machine but like most out mids lacks that polish by foot, adding someone that can get the ball on the outside and hit targets by foot will make us better. Adding Brayshaw into the topic is more what will it cost us to get this trade done, no point have a trade topic if you don't discuss what it will cost you or what you are prepared to give up. It is all hypothetical and we have varying opinions.
-
It is trade talk no one really knows what the club is looking for, a bit of info gets out once the season is done but really we have no idea what position the club will take. To me our biggest need is for some outside class, Cerra has this and to get this done Brayshaw is someone that Fremantle may want with picks. Will this get done most likely not but if there was a chance of landing Cerra you would think that Brayshaw would be a key in making this happen. For one making cap room and two having something to offer Fremantle to get the deal done.

V WCE at Subiaco in 1998, best Melbourne game I have been at, on the old hill there. Bit similar to 2018 had to win to keep the season alive. You will be surprised how many Dees supporters there are in the west, WCE V Melb had a good rivalry in the 90s you, the Jackovich Brothers, Chris Lewis and the biting incident and both sides where in good nick in the early 90s, you either followed WCE or hated them in the west, I was in the hate side as it destroyed the WAFL in WA and was looking for a club.
