It is trade talk no one really knows what the club is looking for, a bit of info gets out once the season is done but really we have no idea what position the club will take. To me our biggest need is for some outside class, Cerra has this and to get this done Brayshaw is someone that Fremantle may want with picks. Will this get done most likely not but if there was a chance of landing Cerra you would think that Brayshaw would be a key in making this happen. For one making cap room and two having something to offer Fremantle to get the deal done.

V WCE at Subiaco in 1998, best Melbourne game I have been at, on the old hill there. Bit similar to 2018 had to win to keep the season alive. You will be surprised how many Dees supporters there are in the west, WCE V Melb had a good rivalry in the 90s you, the Jackovich Brothers, Chris Lewis and the biting incident and both sides where in good nick in the early 90s, you either followed WCE or hated them in the west, I was in the hate side as it destroyed the WAFL in WA and was looking for a club.

I have a mate that caught it this time last year, fit bloke went for 5-10km runs couple times per week prior to catching covid. He says now it feels like his lungs are going to cave in every time he runs. They need to be telling people more about this long Covid and the effects it can have you for a long period of time. My wife was dead against getting my teenage kids vaccinated when we can, I showed her the long Covid that was one Sunrise this morning and the ongoing effects it can have, her mind has changed we will be getting kids shots as soon as we can.

I will give you your first one, poorly worded we do have other key Tall Forwards, my comment should have been added outside the current side. M Brown has been injured for a while and I doubt will be on the list next season. On Toms form I will stand by this, I don't think he out side a couple of games has had the same impact he had in the first half of the season and has gone missing for large chunks of games. B Brown, yep he is kicking a couple of goals, he will need to do a lot more over the next month. Your comment about Fritsch, he would have the same role if Weiderman played, he needs keys around him to allow him to play that hit up role, he still kicked average 2 goals a game for the 5 matches Weiderman played this year. The discussion is on whether Weiderman should stay on our list, my opinion is yes as we need depth in KPF for injury and form. Will he get a game over the next month I hope not as it means we have injuries at the wrong time of the year, but I would like to see him get a full pre-season in, put the pressure on TMac and Brown to work hard for their spots, it only makes us better if he can take a step forward, but it does high light the need to get another developing tall Forward on our list.

Was the comment incorrect.

Pick 20, we would be lucky to get pick 40 for him, he is needed on our list we have no other tall forward. Lets be honest, TMac hasn't been any good for the last 12 odd weeks, the start of the season amazing but has fallen away. B Brown isn't really setting the world on fire kicking some goals but yet to really have an outstanding game, M Brown isn't getting any younger, Daw isn't a forward.

WCE have big Salary Cap issues they tried to top up to win a flag but they now realise that their list is aging with not much coming through. Yeo is the last bloke they can afford to get rid off he is the bloke that wins his own footy and has some heart. Gaff, Shuey, Sheed just want easy football

You have to respect the WAFL and SANFL as top tier competitions until the late 1980s. They were equal to the standard of the VFL till the Eagles and Crows entered into the competition especially pre the 80s as we saw in the 80s Victoria clubs target WA/SA players to play in the VFL. Since the expansion of the AFL, the state league competitions have become the second tier competitions and you will see the VFL have their own Hall of Fame like the WAFL and SANFL that will recognise players who have earnt this at that level

Moving T McDonald to the forward line in 2018 was the start of our charge, we just gained confidence that we could out score out opposition, bit like the way Daniher coached, take the game on attack. We have built an amazing backline to compliment our mids and we just squeeze the life out of sides. We need T Mac or B Brown to really step up in the finals, you just need scoreboard pressure.

Hasn't our side been built by adding in players from other clubs, May, Lever, Brown, Langdon plus adding youth through the draft. It is a balance I get that but lets wait to see how we go in finals before we rule any one out. I'm not saying it will be Cerra, would love him as he adds something we need to improve our list in a really good age bracket, but I'm sure the list management team has a list of outside mids from other clubs that we want to target in trade week.

Brayshaw and second round pick

They still need to sell the club to you, Carlton have the bones of a very good side but you want to know who the coach will be. The way the Carlton Board has handled this review is shambolic with little respect to the people being reviewed. Yesterday highlighted this, Teague is gone but they just keep him on as an insurance policy should the coach of their choice R Lyon knock them back.
-
Was Cerra coached by Ross Lyon? Have no idea why a young player with so much potential would commit to a club that is an absolute basket case.

They have had to manage Nic Nat's game time from day 1, he actually had his best game for a long time on the weekend. He is a very good tap ruckman mainly at centre bounces when he can jump at the contest, outside that he has little influence on a game. Thank you Jack Watts, if we picked up Nic Nat in the 2008 draft we wouldn't have drafted Max in 2009.

Our back 6 is the best in the competition and will only get better. Lever/May/Petty/Tomlinson/Smith as your talls, then you have a really young attacking mid/smalls Salem/Rivers/Bowey/Hunt and I reckon there is a player at Casey that will slot in over time D Smith. Lever has had a good season but he needs to back 6 playing as a unit to enable him to play his role. The best thing with our backline you can see May playing for 3-4 more years the rest have 5-10 years left in them.
-
Not only Lever, Salem has had big impact the last couple of weeks, Bowey is getting the ball. To me Smith is in the side as a pure shut down defender, pretty sure he had Rohan on the weekend, can't remember seeing Rohan much on Saturday night except when he stood back and watch Max take the mark. I can't see any chances except if TMac is injured or sore, he didn't move well. The run would help his touch but just looked limitied in his movement. We need someone to tag Rich, I'm assuming Harmes will get first crack

It was interesting listening to Viney on the Footy Show yesterday. The question was what changed at half time, his answer was we were to along the lines of we were to predictable with our taps and clearance set up, Geelong was just picking us off. They changed this at half time to be more aggressive with the tap and clearance, hitting the ball forward and Max grabbing a few out of the ruck. Geelong was just picking Max off in the second qtr, I hate the hit that just drops the ball at the back of the centre circle, every time a team gets dominance in the centre they pick this tap off, when we get aggressive with our tap work it is less predictable. Tmac is a worry, if he can't run around he struggles, that is his strength, he looked like a block that couldn't accelerate. Hoping the run helped, you would almost add Melksham to tag Rich.

Sums up our issue, Oliver inside 50m to Geelong, Petracca no pressure kicks to Geelong viney no pressure kicks to Geelong, we can't kick
-
Will we get fined for tanking, we rather play port than bne, get the cross over and meet Geelong in the gf
-
Brayshaw, harmes just need to be replaced in this side
-
Stop that negative tap in the middle, hit it forward

I think both 1 v 4 and 2 v 3 will be played in Adelaide next week and maybe even a 3rd game. If Melbourne and Geelong win next week I reckon both will go straight to WA to quarantine for prelims. The other teams will either stay in Adelaide or head to Brisbane and quarantine for the semi finals and prelims If they win.
-
I think Jones in Break Glass in case of emergency and that emergency would be injuries. I think if you narrow your Finals squad you have the 22 from this week, the 3 that missed out plus AVB, Hunt and Weidermen.
-
I think this forum shows why Smith was picked, he has the ability to play on small/mid size forwards as well as big forwards. I think he will start on Cameron. We don't really get much stronger than this side.
-
This isn't a new role for him, he has been on a wing for the past couple of seasons. He needs to find the balance like Langdon has defensive running V attacking, seems to me he struggles to do both whether he doesn't have the tank to run both ways is the question. He was pushed out if the centre square group due to lack of defensive running, seems now he runs defensively but has little impact on the attack.
