    "what would Stephen Dank have to gain from doping his players?" is straight out of the spin manual. Turn around the allegation with a rhetorical question aimed at the allegation. It both avoids an answer and allows you to either jump away from the allegation or redefine the allegation so that you can fob it off with a pat answer. If there is no follow up question it's move-along-now, nothing-to-see.

    Go back through Holmes' Twitter feed or Google "Tracey Holmes Essendon" and you'll find it's obvious why the Hird camp picked her to conduct the interview. I can't think of a sports journalist who has been more one-sided towards the Essendon side of the rumpus.

    Mono, you redefined my comparison so that you could invent a flaw in an analogy I did not make. I made no mention of the comparative legality. My comparison holds up just fine - it is clearly between two entities which were eventually pinged for doing what others had been doing, only more flagrantly.

    What happened at Essendon with supplements is similar to what happened at Melbourne with tanking. To whit, every club was doing it, but eventually one club overdid it and made it impossible for the authorities to pretend "nothing happening here".
