Next: an Offside Rule

Even more bizzare was that we'd pretty much slaughtered GWS out of the centre clearances all day. Then, with the game on the line like against the Saints last year, we still managed to stick the ball straight down the opposition's throat.

Hilarious reading the gameday thread. There was so much moaning, grizzling and doom & glooming that it barely registered that Melbourne hit the front. Get a grip, girlfriends.

Tigers scrambled a win and Blues looked much better. Lose. Lose.

Eleven Pies players test positive to illicit substances
Tony Tea replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fingers crossed Melbourne is not high up on the hair test ladder. -

Out: Scully. In: Hogan. Win. Win.

Calling it a "ring of steel" flatters chain link fences.

Skyhooks, yes. Sherbet, no.

He also erroneously states that Melksham is a "classy wingman".

Fox Footy Roundtable - Melbourne
Tony Tea replied to Delusional demon 82's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like to think Richmond will do a 2007 Demons and fall off the ladder. But that's wishful thinking rather than cold hard analysis. Nevertheless, I don't think Hardwick can coach a flag without a serious injection of talent. Nor do I highly rate the Tigers' game style. A few key injuries and the Tigers may go into freefall. Hardwick's resigning for 2 years was interesting. -
Jesse Hogan and his kicking for goal (merged thread)
Tony Tea replied to Ricky P's topic in Melbourne Demons
I remember Hogan "dropping" several marks in the Carlton and Essendon games when Gawn kept spoiling him. Although, Hogan may have had a broken bone in his hand for the Carlton game. -
Pompous buffoon. He was past his use-by date when he retired the first time.

SMITH NO1 BUT NORTHEY A BETTER COACH THAN CHECKER?
Tony Tea replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
The best thing about Northey was that he understood footy is a contact sport involving blokes knocking over blokes. Something absent in our coaching ranks until Roos came along. -
There is an archetypal Demons graphic in the 1994 Carlton game. Free kicks: Carlton 16, Melbourne 5.

Yes, I used to play cricket against Ian King. He was very quick. He got done for indecency. He should also have got done for giving me a massive corky.

Tom McDonald needs to take a good hard look at himself.
Tony Tea replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I seem to recall from a couple of years ago a Demon player getting votes from the radio commentators, but Mick Malthouse refused to give the player votes, saying you don't deserve anything when you slaughter the footy. Was Mick talking about Tommy Mac? -
It's the Clarko way. Soak up any pressure, then slaughter them going the other way.

Angus Brayshaw's knee injury (minor strain - 4 weeks)
Tony Tea replied to Wealthy bigpennies's topic in Melbourne Demons
With respect, Pates, DS and Dazz, I disagree with you all. -
Angus Brayshaw's knee injury (minor strain - 4 weeks)
Tony Tea replied to Wealthy bigpennies's topic in Melbourne Demons
The AFL should abolish both pre-season competitions and pre-season practice matches. There is no need for either. The only reason they exist is because they exist. (Perhaps the AFL scratch a little money out of NAB.) There is nothing that can't be achieved in a practice match against another club that can't be achieved by in-house match practice. -
Mexican food is one of the more over rated cuisines. "Taco" is Spanish for stale bread.

The MCC fence protects me from people doing the Mexican wave.

Angus Brayshaw's knee injury (minor strain - 4 weeks)
Tony Tea replied to Wealthy bigpennies's topic in Melbourne Demons
4 weeks is most definitely the precursor to 4-to-6. -
Angus Brayshaw's knee injury (minor strain - 4 weeks)
Tony Tea replied to Wealthy bigpennies's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm with the commenters who reckon Hartlett on Brayshaw was both deliberate and dangerous. I hope the same happens to Hartlett, so that he can feel what it's like to be pinned, rammed and squashed.
