  1. The worst thing about that dismal percentage is that it was predictable. In the last two years we have broken down offensively against the better defences, so it was only a matter of time until the lesser defences caught on. Chuck in our injury and operation ravaged offseason and we had no chance to work on some variations. Presuming we wanted to work on some variations.

Has Keath suddenly become a six foot line-breaking speedster with elite precision kicking?
  3. Second half. 4.10 to 9 straight. And why? Because we don't have the forward craft to execute a full press and then score, whilr Collingwood bust us open for sitters.

So, Marvel is better than Wembley, Fenway Park, Nou Camp, San Siro, Bernabeu, the new Spurs stadium, and even the MCG, among manu others which don't readily leap to mind. Was this poll commissoned by the owners of the Marvel Universe?

    No.

Frosty, in his previous guise as Carry On alumnus Lance Percival.
  7. The best example is the StKilda game. In 2019 the Saints have kicked 115 -122 , yet against us they kicked 15-5, mostly because the kept strolling in for sitters after burning us with our turnovers.
  8. Our poor defence earlier this year allowed our opponents to kick easy goals. It's not as if we have been torched by miracle goals, or even flukey goals. And when sides bust us open after a turnover, they are also kicking easy goals.
  9. You don't want a bull moose personality as an assistant. Bolton would bring heaps of IP.

I'm with you. last year Oscar looked as if he was developing into a reliable tall defender, but this year, when he is not being outmarked, he is falling over.
  11. Get Bolton to the Dees. We need some new ideas in the footy department, and Bolton knows Clarko Footy.
  12. Play on at all costs is fine if you get free players ahead of the ball and have players who can kick it to the free players, but too often our ball carriers have no one to kick to, so they kick in hope.
  13. I have relatives and older friends who swear that the umpires hate Melbourne in the 50s and 60s. And just for the record. When Melbourne beat Essendon in the 1941 grand final, Essendon won the free kick count around 40-10.
  14. As long as Lever is okay.
  15. In the OED there is a picture of the AFL logo next to "unintended consequences".
  16. Players fumble when they don't know what the are going to do with the ball as they approach the ball. They also fumble when they are expecting contact - timid Garlett, for instance, who is only in the team due to injuries. If you know what you want to do, and you are positioned to get your hands on the ball first, you get it and give it regardless of the opposition.
  17. Salem has done a very unDemon thing: he extended his contract and is subsequently having his best year.
  18. Heaven help the competition if we ever work out how to play footy forward of centre.
  19. Frosty would say "camelopard".
  20. Frosty the magnificent gangling freak beast.
  21. There were a couple of clear 50s not paid to Melbourne in the last quarter. One to McDonald when a Hawks player booted the ball away. Another when a Hawks player returned the ball to the wrong Demon player after a Demon free. You'd care less, if it wasn't for the lame 50s paid against Harmes for maybe infringing the protected zone.

If ever there is a side I thought we would lose to, it's Hawthorn. Clarko Footy is our Achilles Heel, and on top of that Hawthorn are a long time bogie side. GREAT WIN! (With half a side.)
  23. Never in doubt, ya muppet.
