  1. dunno. maybe too many thin skinned princesses on D'Land? LOL
  2. Well I don't think we will win a flag next year, LOL (assuming that was the metric you had in mind)
  3. It would be a lay-down misere Robbie unless YKW gets run down by a Goodes-train
  4. Oh pleeze! I'd take my chances on a 1000:1 longshot in a heart beat rather than prolong the agony any longer. Do you realise 1 more year and Juice is eligible for free agency! Think about it.
  5. I'd say 10 minimum. There is going to be some easy wins out there with GWS added to the bottom dwellers esp if we get some of them twice. Having said that there are plenty of other metrics (than wins) which will indicate our improvement (or lack of) next season
  6. Um 3 pages already. Didn't we have a much bigger thread on exactly this a year ago What is the point of regurgitating the same pu?
  7. Yep, there's nothing like pu to put a different perspective on things
  8. google is your friend Schadenfreude i/ˈʃɑːdənfrɔɪdə/ (German: [ˈʃaːdənˌfʁɔʏdə]) is pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.[1] This German word is used as a loanword in English and some other languages, and has been calqued in Danish and Norwegian as skadefryd and Swedish as skadeglädje
  9. I suppose The Seekers and Rolf Harris don't count? BTW GOOD news - Bananas $7.99 at Burwood Village greengrocers........wooohooooo!
  10. Settle down, no need to leave. We will grow some A-graders but I can't see us getting enough midfield A-graders from this group. Hence a top-up How many midfield A-graders do you think we need? How many do Geel, Coll, Carl, Haw have? 4? 5? 6?
  11. You are misinterpreting me I say that others who rate them around the 10 mark are 'over-rating' them I'm not saying they are not valuable, i believe they are, but lets stop all this talk of them being worth close to the 10 mark (not having a go at you in particular)
  12. So if we finish above Dogs and Crows at 8th (your example) And their 'After 1st Round' picks are exercised And one of Port/GCS/Bris get a compu pick The 11 pick has dropped to 14 (or 13 if we finish 9th, or 12 if we finish 10th) And, at 8th place we are still 2 picks off a mid pick So, Mid worth 16 or 17 This is why I think too many are overrating our compo picks
  13. from Compo thread in Drafting Board 1st round after club =============== GWS (after Crows/Davis for Crouch) Bulldogs (after Dogs/Ward) Melbourne (after Melbourne/Scully) Geelong (after Geelong/Ablett) Mid 1st round after non-finalists ======================== GWS (Geelong/Ablett via Gold Coast for O'Meara) Melbourne (Melbourne/Scully)
  14. Nah, he's waiting for Free Agency
  15. The 11 pick example could be pushed back another few places if A lower club's 'After 1st round' pick is exercised Another club qualifies for the 'losers' compo pick
  16. Robbie I think the "mid" first rounders are allocated in FIFO sequence, so GWS (ex Geelong) from 2010 pips our 2011 Mid first round. Anyone clarify? The "first round after club pick" as you say always reverts to position of original club in year being used
  17. Caution. I'd count on those CP's being closer to the 15 mark than the 10 mark
  18. Well I too hope that we can plug our gaps from the current list, after all they are young, many are low draft picks and we have a new coaching team. But common sense tells me we will not get the A graders without some topping up, and I don't want to wait too long because we are too unbalanced. We have a potentially potent forward line but without a potent midfield to feed them this will not allow our forwards to develop properly. The midfield won't turn around (if it does) overnight so I think a midfield established player top-up is a high priority. Re the KPB. I don't consider Garland a genuine KPB. Maybe one of the youngsters will develop as such but as insurance I'd like to see us shop for an est KPB but not with the same urgency as the midfield.
  19. HWL would be more succint don't you think rpfc? Sure Rangey would agree why waste 6 letters on him/it
  20. and how did we overlook the great JOK. He was still going strong mid 60's wasn't he?
  21. Agree he's not a dud. He's got a good football brain, reasonable skills and tons of courage. He's just too little and gets smashed too often. If he stays in AFL he will get killed one day. Not for us
  22. you forgot the Delltones and Llittle Pattie
  23. Ah, so he meant 'saints players' directly, not 'the saints'. The op did imply 'the saints' though. Anyway, carry on
  24. and don't forget Bobbie and Laurie........not really my cup-o-tea though
