  1. Hale didn't actually reject us. The Hawks out bid us. The rest can entertain themselves to themselves.
  2. I'd absolutely re-sign Garland. He's an important for us. Howe? There seems to be a gap between his view of his worth to the team, and his actual worth to the team. Suspect he has a greedy manager who's giving him bad advice. Would trade him for a first round pick or a really decent midfielder, but nothing less.
  3. Watts is absolutely a required player. Just accept it.
  4. But he's not a second year coach. He's regarded in the industry as an elite, experienced AFL coach. That supporters may think this reflects more in their (woefully ignorant) understanding of things than Roos ability as a senior coach. Those same supporters would've put Ken Hinkley on a pedestal last year and vilified him this year.
  5. Roos has greatly assisted in transforming this club for the better. His legacy will live on for a long time. This thread's ridiculous.
  6. WTF?! I genuinely believe we have one of the best, and most stable, coaching groups in the competition. Some of the crazy hyperbole following our extremely poor showing against St Kilda has been ridiculous. It's that not long ago that we beat Geelong at Geelong with about 8 of our best 22 players out. We have a young and inexperienced list. There will be ups and downs, but it is clear that the general trend is one of absolute improvement.
  7. Jeff Kennett clearly knows a good coach when he sees one ...
  8. You obviously don't recall the Frawley debate very clearly. I think most regulars here know my view on that one - and it's kind of the opposite of what you've attributed to me.
  9. I'd be extremely disappointed if Garland was to leave this club. Quality player. Quality individual. Quality clubman. Sign him up.
  10. I suspect the club has targeted certain players and that some of those discussions are well advanced. However, given Roos' history, I suspect some of those players won't be the completely obvious names bandied about here and on every other AFL club's supporter website at the moment.
  11. And many of those 21 behinds were absolutely gettable - he should have at least 35 goals to date. Absolute bargain. The most exciting player to watch on our list - I love the bloke. Our recruiting department has gone from completely hopeless to seriously good since the appointment of Viney, Taylor and (most significantly) Roos.
  12. He'll be back in time for the finals. Ohh hang on ...
  13. I want to see Garland's ink on a new MFC contract. As for Howe - well, he clearly has a value to the MFC, but it may be that what Howe and his manager think that value is, is a bit different to what the MFC think it is.
  14. This is one of the most depressing incidents in recent times. I feel sick thinking of the pain and suffering ahead of the Walsh family. At least they should know that the entire nation is behind them.
  15. This sucks the air out of your lungs. Absolutely horrible.
  16. I want to see the club re-sign Howe. And Garland.
  17. As Jonathon Brown said last weekend - we have superb bookends in Hogan and McDonald. They're the hardest positions to fill and we're beautifully positioned in this respect. Our young mids look great. This list ain't so bad after all. Thank you Paul Roos, Todd Viney and Jason Taylor.
