  1. From what I have been told, its fro the sports psycho's... Apparently the adrenaline from helping your teams score can result in the player over exerting himself and possible becoming injured. We all know when your pumped you go in harder etc...so they tae them off for the adrenaline to drop and then back on. To be it seems nuts..thin farmer with that second half of 9 goals against the pies...imagine if he had to run to the interchange every time he scored, whereas he stayed on and was in the zone..
  2. RIP Tommy.. Amazing person to have met. Pity we didn't get hold of him in the 70s...
  3. given their fast declining ladder position, he may soon be putout to pasture if its true.
  4. I was putting it down to all the excitement and rapid posting
  5. Tried to log in not long after the WIN!! but it was down. Its been a good day.
  6. Pretty normal to be honest if you have been at a club a long time. Actually any place such as school, work etc you and take ownership of what happened there. Given his efforts for us this year I'm very happy to have him.
  7. As it has been discussed here numerous times. The general football media has seems to have gotten overs it love of Nic Nat. https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/afl/a/23026241/naitanui-a-poor-player-lucas/ Been discussed a bit in Perth on the footy talk back and the general consensus of how over rated he is.
  8. The I remember the noise we made when they both debut in the same match, round one or two. An early example of pumping up new players. Jacko was a high risk pick for the doggies who needed a forward. Didn't pay off. They were criticised for it at the time. While Jacko came back overweight from his injury at the start of pre-season there must have been something more to dump him so quick? Anyone know.
  9. The youth policy at the lions is hurting him, with us we had few seniors hence he got priority. The lions have far better senior players already to fill that role. He'll be a depth player i imagine.
  10. Callers were getting into NicNat on 6PR sports tonight. The personalities were even saying he was the most sought after player int he draft that year. Until someone called in and mentioned he was taken as 2, not 1. Also the general consensus of Nicnat in the footy public does not match the love the media give him. average footballer who can on rare occasions do something fancy for a 3 second tv highlight not he news.
  11. At least you have seen a day premiership
  12. He has improved...even took on the oppo. The second qtr killed us with 10 pts straight. If we had converted 1/3 of our misses we would have won, pretty simple. Over all the structure has improved, but more kicking would be great...held it too long.
  13. Wish him all the best...having a break will be good for him.
  14. I think their should be an appeal and the status changed. Simply because the rules changed after the contract was signed and paid. Basically there should be a transition period given his obvious importance to the club is not measured in this year's salary as the old contracts expire.
  15. Yep in the news again, I wonder if he realised the media scrutiny is far worse in Perth?
  16. Great news and well deserved. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-02-21/stynes-joins-bronze-heroes To think we only had one rep on that avenue for so long and now we're raining statues
  17. Col was not the only Docker looking like he did want to be there. They were woeful according to the radio broadcast.
  18. A much better balanced side..a positive start to the year...actually a bloody great start
  19. Confirming: Darkhorse Are we also looking at running a real dream comp..for the purists I'm happy to run a team in both comps afl v virtual sports...whats one more on top of Supercoach.
  20. They were the best options from captain from what I know. Age is not an issue, Sticks kernihan was a very young captain and his appointment was very surprising at the time. The difference is the culture across the whole club to support the "young" captains did not exist.
  21. He is contracted until the end of 2014. This normal, if eh continues to improve our club he will be offered another contract and he will decide himself whether to take it or not. He is professional football administrator and those jobs do not come around that often. And people in those positions often hang around for a long time as its a passion as well as a job. So we'll she how his and chip's contract talks go
  22. pretty sums it up right there. And over a very long period too, not a flash in the pan luck.
