  1. While Roos did say that, what I think was missed, does not mean they want to trade every player. Simply any player can be traded as thats how the system works.
  2. Love it, comes under the so bad its good category.
  3. Stumbled across this off the news.com.au website http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/photos-fnet085v-1227264817078?page=1 Pia Miller has joined home and away. not watching the show I have no idea when and how. But there you go.
  4. Roos has his philosophy on coaching, whether for the modern game or not. But real reason Roos was hired was stability and experience in developing a culture to make us successful. to me that is his real purpose. We are seeing glimpse's of it, but its a slow process. I liken it to when Barassi was called in Sydney in the 90s. Stop the rot, start to build a culture and the Eade, Roos extended it once the foundations were in place. Whether he has got the right game plan, he is slowly brining in players that will try consistently which has been our biggest problem. Flash in the pan players, great one week, poor the next.
  5. but will a return o success most likely the interest will return. reminds me of 1987 after many dismal years and low attendances, we make the finals and the MCG is filled with red and blue. With all teams that all have members who come and go on success. besides most 17yo have other more immediate interests
  6. boys are responding...they are learning how to play AFL footy...
  7. Hi Juts trying to work out when the game against Freo will finish for plans afterwards. Couldn't see it not he AFL website. Any help please.

  10. I have a question: People keep talking about back dated suspensions. How can any period of suspension be backdated because the players were not suspended, they played out the season and have been training through the off season...i.e. not suspended. So when the decision comes down and assuming it is guilty. Wouldn't all suspensions be from that point, like all other convictions by WADA or associated bodies. its not like they are sitting in jail awaiting trail in a criminal case and then get timed served. While it made be bad for the competition, going on the example set by all other sporting associations, even cycling, their consequence if found guilty it maximum suspension, but ask those olympians and and VFL players. The AFL will have a plan to deal with that outcome.
  11. In terms of penalty. I just think of that VFL player that decided to import steroids of some type. He never received or took them so he got no benefit as they were intercepted. But was suspended for 2 years if i remember correctly. So if the Essendon players are found guilty, how can they not be given a minimum of 2 years. They actively injected the illegal substances into their body and gained benefit form that against the rules. It is irrelevant that they were duped etc, they accepted the drugs and like many people pointed out with other sports, its does not matter how you got it, voluntary or tricked, if you use illegal drugs you get banned. The VFL has set the standard 2yrs. How could they give even less for a far more deliberate attempt to gain an unfair advantage.
  12. Most likely a direct question from a reporter as he put 2 and 2 together and thought he had an angle to write an article.
  13. Didn't Kane Luca just get delisted, we can grab him now
  14. I wonder who the replacement will be? They should had let Girffin go and taken he draft pick/players. They could have done well out of it, as Griffen has only maybe 2 years of top line service left. The question will be all ned year will Griffen go FA to GWS anyway?
  15. VALE Robbie Devastated and so young as well. My favourite player of all time and one of the if not the greatest wingman to play. Pure talent.
  16. I never understood the paying a minimum of your salary cap rule. Its like telling any business you mist spend this much on staffing even if you don't need it. There should be a minimum wage for players and the rest is by the free market. It will naturally adjust itself with competition between clubs for valuable players. Looking at your above figures, isn't the minimum wag close of a $100k nowadays?
  17. The draft is a lottery, long term success if between the players ears and club culture.
  18. Really "I never went after Fitzroy players or others at clubs that have really been struggling. My job really was always to try and develop players that other people may not have wanted or didnt think they were good enough. Apparently we weren't struggling when he went after Scully. While I don't give a rats &%rs about scully, it amazing me the amount of money he gets paid its not questioned regularly about his performance. But I think it basically illustrates that no one cares what happens in bankstown.
  19. Looking outside wines v trump. All these kids have the skills to be drafted. But what sets them apart is what is between their ears and their determination. Its that desire to beat the best makes them great footballers and that will overcome lots of short comings seen in their junior years. For example if Watts had Viney/wines/fife mind sets he would be a superstar. That is the job of our new coach to change their mindsets, to have that hunger for the ball and nothing else. Remember ever club overlooked Fife, some more than once, he was a skinny kid but I think Freo realised in attitude there was something there. That is what is important in my mind when picking in the draft. Roosy/viney has already shown that this year with some great pickups.
  20. this ia great game to watch now...Go Port.
  21. An interesting read, obviously biased.. But when I read the following... Juice Newton plays like Jonathan Brown for the first quarter of the game against North then never does anything ever again i remember that game clearly, saying to my dad, finally he's come of age...amazing first quarter, the whole team was dominating..thinking finally...that three quarters of crap!
  22. I liked Martin when with us,played some great footy in patches, but he wasnt getting the opportunity in our ruck setup so he left, whether by choice or not who knows? He had the same purple patch with us after Jamar got injured, then the next year vanished and was traded a year later. But the interesting this is what will happen once the preferred talls return as what happened with us?
  23. Personaly while swan gets a lot of the ball (Great for DT) he is not that damaging with it. Prefer a player that damages the opposition with al possessions.
