Not a bad summary. Pretty much on board with that except for the bolded part. There's no eveidence to support this. If there was , point 1 wouldn't have arisen.
-
Well Jaded, if you're not volunteering, maybe we could bring over another West Australian for him Chelsea

Lyon also said that if Gerard Healy was getting info from the club :"it wouldn't be his brother. He's got a direct line to the board". The obvious implication being that someone else was leaking to Gerard. Appeared no great affection from one No. 3 to the prior occupant of the jumper.

Thought he was very impressive. Contracted next year though so might be tough to prise him outta there Tom Bell

Had a look. Agree with all that. The Dogs skipper was pretty good too. Gee a colt by Schwartz out of Randall would be worth following !
-
According to SportingPulse stats he's played 3 there & six in Casy seniors

If Spencer gets more weeks than Simpkin then.....
Go the Biff replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's it unfortunately. He's protected himself from what looked like being an incoming headbutt to the Niagras and it will cost him a couple of weeks. If he was to try to defend his actions it will cost him the early plea. Unfair. -
Agree with this. I saw or heard that a commentator said Blease should just run & take 3 bounces whenever he gets the ball. Couldn't disagree more. He should use his pace as mrtwister suggests. At the moment he would be a nightmare if you were a leading forward & saw the ball in his hands. I think he can play & I know he can kick. He needs to play smarter & be coached a lot better For all that it was pretty courageous of Blease to play yesterday. He had a horrible week which was represented by the black armband he wore & kissed after his goal.

Have a look on the club website & see what you think. Found it very interesting and quite uncomfortable at times. Between this and today's Jackson interviews, if nothing else there is a clear no bullshite philosophy at the club.

Wait til dazzledavey finds the right thread. He's still got some unloading to do !

Spot on. If we get a coach who can sell the vision then we should go hell for leather at Daisy Thomas as a free agent. Then try to extract Taylor Adams from GWS (I'd like Shiel but Adams seems more likely to move). Then start looking at mids who are coming off contract & start planting ideas with player managers. If we can get a decent mid via the PSD this thing can be turned around a lot quicker than most believe. A few big ifs but we have to start aiming high. Starting with the coach. I love Nate Jones but I don't think we'll go anywhere while he's our best mid. We should be aiming to have him ranked about 4th in a heavily reinforced midfield. Within 2 years

That's appropriate WJ - our form has been criminal

Yeah not so much that Roos is Blight like - and my view is that Blight lost his marbles a long time ago. Roos appears quite measured except when speaking about the Swans when he becomes a cheerleader. I don't mind that. Shows his passion is still there. More the situation of convincing someone to take the job when they really don't want to return to coaching. That's my concern with Roos Maybe though, he is in it up to his ears and is one hell of a poker player. As you say, time will tell

Never underestimate our capacity to [censored] things up. We are at St Kilda levels of ineptitude For me, the first thing I'd want is a bloke who is passionate about the job and wants it. Roos is too cool by half. Blight like. And that ended so well.

Neeld Sacked with Craig as Interim Coach
Go the Biff replied to Satyriconhome's topic in Melbourne Demons
A gun ??? Turn it up. Thompson was hardly a gun in 2004. He was a kid of undoubted potential who played half a season. The midfield Ratten had at his disposal included the likes of Junior, Bruce, Trapper, Heffernan & Read. Not many Hall of Famers at his disposal I couldn't give a stuff about your argument with Django but don't reinvent history -
I heard it on SEN. Dermie was pretty close to my favourite non-Melbourne player. Loved the way he went about the game. As a commentator however, he has become so enamoured with the sound of his own voice that he fails to give any consideration to what it's actually saying. Loves a paragraph where a sentence would suffice. He fancies himself as a commentator's War & Peace but comes out sounding as sensible as a Readers Digest version of Finnegan's Wake. Great player. Facile analyst. Dermie is pretty keen on the Clint Eastwood Rule "a man's got to know his limitations". I reckon Derm should apply it to himself And to be clear, this opinion is not based on Melbourne issues - it's one I've held for a long, long time. This thread just gave it some relevance

Shane Warne says hi right back atcha - and wishes he hadn't been such a [censored]. For despite having the best cricket brain in the country, behaving like an arse clown ensured he didn't get to be captain. Sounds familiar
-
Donald Duffy for mine. Might have been a great man but his reign was the start of all things crap for MFC
-
He had a pretty ordinary run with injuries (hence the nickname) so I doubt that Daniher didn't play him by choice. When fit, he'd have a good game at Sandy then not get near it for a month. Had pretty good hands & could clunk marks but lacked athleticism IMO. He had the biggest turning circle of any Melbourne player I've seen since John Tilbrook Played for Balwyn in the EFL after Melbourne. Might have got a flag or two and eventually captained them. Not sure if he's still going around.

Ray "The Biff" Biffen on SEN with Finey now!
Go the Biff replied to Demon Dynasty's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's on the SEN website Thanks for the heads-up Rusty. Really enjoyed that. Biff was my favourite Demon for a long time. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the time he coached the Hawks U/19's and he was a ripping fella. -
I don't know that a ten year term should be our first criteria for a coach Lethal is tough, respected and a winner. We need all of those qualities

1) I doubt anyone serves on the board with the intention of driving the club into the ground 2) There are some absolute Karmichaels on this site

Stuart Grimshaw stepped down as well
