We probably will play him forward if we secure two mids with 2 and 3.

We have pulled the trigger and today suggested we will take a mid and KPF. Saints need to think it through. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM FROST

Maybe we get 2nd and 3rd rounder form Cats for MC and give 2nd to Pies and 3rd to GWS. -

That's to induce GWS to trade with them. -
I could live with it.

Tuesday is 51 and you will all have worked this out already. Yes that's right 5 & 1 = 6 which is the date today and is also 3 our compo for Chip, plus round 3 for Stretch, adding to 6 for the day. Simple wasn't it?

One can only hope.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
Redleg replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
Do you think that Roos was making a statement, that he is worth 2, but going for 19 to the Swans. -
Monday 52 Start of Trade Week, I love it. Billy Stretch to join the Dees.
-
I was there and saw it and it was not the goal of the century, it was the greatest goal ever, in the entire history of VFL/AFL football. In the words of Huddo " I saw it but I didn't believe it". I have never seen a goal come close.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA
Redleg replied to Moonshadow's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wasn't he one, some on here wanted us to go after? -
You want Petracca and Brayshaw, just tell Saints we will take McCartin.
-
Well done guys.
-
53= Gone.
-
We don't get Petracca if Saints trade the pick to GWS. That is who they want.
-
McCartin is being touted as a once in 10 year forward. The Dogs are desperate to get him. Maybe even the Saints. We have 2 and 3 and maybe the best we will get for years to come, we hope. Most clubs rate Petracca as something special. We will get Brayshaw who may be as good as Petracca. As I have said I am warming to to get 2 of the three and Stretch and build our club on them and the improvement on guys we already have. Salem, Toumpas, Hogan, Kent, JKH, Trengove, King, Hunt, McDonald, Harmes and maybe Barry and even Watts and others, have room for improvement. McCartin and Hogan could set us up for the next 10 years like Buddy and Roughy did for the Hawks. A few trades and more draft picks will improve the side with the likes of Frost, Merrett, Lumumba etc. I don't want to throw away this chance, unless we get a top player for the loss of either of these 2 picks. I agreed with the Tyson/Salem deal but I am worried this year that no one is talking a Tyson and we actually rated Salem at 3, don't see that happening this year.

Agree. The AFL is but one football competition in the country. It has rules and aims. One aim was to have an even competition. Players sign AFL contracts agreeing to be bound by AFL rules. You don't like the rules, then don't sign and go play in another competition, simple. The AFL has cow towed to the players and the big clubs. FA is not even doing what it was intended to do. Next year they are thinking of scrapping the compensation, wonderful. We breed them, when ripe they are stolen and we get nothing. What genius thought of that? Now they are trying to get 6 year qualification for FA. AFL, change the name of the draft to the "6 Year Draft".

Yes. If we could get him I would look at clearing Jamar out. -
Very!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next important event for us is at about 10.10AM Monday, when we find out which pick we need to use on Billy.
-
I am doing well. On the 21st September I said on here not to go after him. Today on another thread I said to go after him. He was an inch away from playing for the Premier in the GF, He is a Premiership player and like Cross a good trainer and hard at the ball player. I think for 2 years he could be valuable to us helping out our young mids. Even if we do get Petracca and Brayshaw they would benefit from having him in their club. I suppose it depends on cost. In the PSD he would be free.

Apparently the Swans have 2 priority Academy selections this year, Heeney and Hiscox. The Grand Finalist and recent Premier gets more help. Gotta love the AFL. -

I am warming to keeping 2 and 3 and taking Brayshaw and Petracca or McCartin. If they are as good as most think, we can set ourselves up for the future. Either 2 quality mids or a mid and key forward. Still plenty of room for more trades and picks after that.
