Who do you think that is? -
Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]
Redleg replied to Dr evil's topic in Melbourne Demons
There are a few ways to deal with this.If we want Petracca we just tell Saints if they want McCartin to not swap their pick. Then we take Petracca and Brayshaw. If they are as good as hyped then we have 2 class mids coming in. If Saints are going to swap their pick we tell them do that and we either take McCartin or swap him to Dogs. This allows us to get involved in all early deals for perhaps more players thrown in. We could get Frost or O'Rourke for nothing from GWS, a pick or player from Saints and a pick and player from Dogs. This is a great opportunity for us to act ruthlessly like a top club. -
Crows saying they will not trade Dangerfield. They believe they can resign him to a longer contract before end of next year.
-
Agree. Griffen has multiple injury issues as well and is turning 29 I think. The offer for us should be a can't refuse offer or keep our picks. I would be happy to take Brayshaw and Petracca or McCartin and believe we have done well. McCartin and Hogan could be our Roughy and Buddy for the next 10 years allowing us to concentrate most other picks and trades on mids over the next few years.

Billy I just saw it and reacted. I am amazed that you find it amazing that someone would be offended by the use of extremely foul and denigrating language, on a forum site used by young people and women. Anyway well done on correcting things. -
This is one of the times it won't help. It is my wife's birthday and we are both in tears.

RIP Robbie Flower - Sad Passing of a True Champion
Redleg replied to KLV's topic in Melbourne Demons
RIP Robbie. With RDB the greatest two players ever in the history of the MFC. However only one of the two remained a Demon all his career. Like all who knew him I am gutted. He was a friend of our family and attended my son's 13th birthday, giving him a framed autographed jumper. At a club banquet auction I purchased a life size photo, which went in my son's room and is still now in our hallway. It is just about my most prized possession. When he was over one day, I showed him the photo and he said he couldn't understand how my son could go to sleep seeing him on the wall. Easy I told him, you are our hero. And he was. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends, team mates and all those who like my family loved this guy. We have all lost a legend.- 385 replies

Big day tomorrow, not just 55, but Father/ Son bidding day.

So lets summarize, the big four names leaving their clubs in the last 2 years have gone where; Buddy and Tippet-Swans, MC- Cats, Chip- Hawks. The premiers of the last 4 years. Yes working a treat.
-
That's a cop out. So the good players we have are besides the point. The ones who leave and can't make it at another club are also besides the point. Anyone no good was great, but was Melbourne'd. Rubbish. You need to talk to other clubs recruiters and find out what they said about many of our picks, we were a laughing stock at the draft in those years. Most people in the know would agree that we stuffed up several drafts, end of story.
-
56 You all know what that is. The number of the bloke who was so depressed he couldn't play for us anymore.
-
GNF, I refuse at least at this point in time to abuse MC. You apparently have a good contact at the club. ATM I don't know what happened to see him leaving us. I can picture at least 6 scenarios. What I do know is that the club, at least publicly, has said or done nothing to try and keep him. Even Roos on 360 had a perfect opportunity to just say he would like him to stay, but refused 3 times when asked to do so. Given the above circumstances how can you accuse people who suggest that the MFC pushed him out and don't want him, as being delusional. That is a pretty fair conclusion to draw. If somebody at some stage sets the record straight, we will at least all know. Do you want to do that, or do you not know either?

There is a trade rumour that Blease is to be swapped for Butcher at Port.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Redleg replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can anyone see Harvey, a favourite son, taking over for a year or two? -
The bloke he could actually help the most, in a number of ways, could be Watts.
-
We can't give more than that for a player with 1-2 years left in his career. If they want more, say goodbye, unless we are not using a higher pick, or we get a slightly better pick as part of a deal and are not using it..
-
Ok, they want to offload his contract I suspect. They now have a bunch of young talls they want to play. They need room for Beams salary. If true, they don't need to screw us, so pick 70-80 does it.
-
Great, I hope he is right.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW

We could stuff that up by threatening to trade 3 to a club that wants McCartin or take him ourselves. -
