  1. It canโ€™t be left too late if a player is involved, as you need time to convince them and work out terms.
  2. Those 2 won't be moving, they are the futures of their clubs.
  3. Gunston, McKay, Curnow, Brown and Ratugolea are IMO no chance at all. Tremblay is refusing to leave WA where he is a G-D. Bruce appears to have committed to the Dogs, though could be a chance late if a deal can't be done. Membrey won't go if Bruce is gone. That leaves Schache on your list, who we could have had a couple of years ago. McKay's twin brother at North could be a chance, but he isn't setting the world on fire and has played mainly in defence. I think our key forward if we have one in sight, is not on this list.
  4. Dogs are now into him for 2021 and some believe he and his brother would be better served, playing at different clubs. GC List Manager says they have some confidence he will sign an extended contract with them, at some stage next year.
  5. I am happy to believe all Dees gossip at this time of year, as it makes it interesting and enjoyable to log on to DL each time, hoping for some good news on a new player. If it doesn't come off, no biggie. As long as posters aren't lying and I believe you aren't, then it is great to get bits of news on our club. Keep up the posting and when you can, throw out another hint. Not sure if this has been posted, but Mahoney virtually ruled out any small forward trades and suggested that could be a draft scenario. So I think if he is correct, we won't be drafting a big boy with our first pick.
  6. Yes he can have an opinion. Yes he is wrong. Finishing 17th doesn't of itself make you a basket case, it might mean for a number of valid reasons you had a bad year. Carlton finished one spot higher, are they a basket case and if not why not? I would have thought a basket case is a club with no good players, no members, no money. We are not that, so IMO he is wrong. Every club that finished 17th or worse over the years must according to his rationale been a basket case that year. Lazy journalism and jingoism. I don't bang on like we are assured success and I don't think most on here do either. But I do believe with a good injury run, better draw, further development of young players, hard work and some luck we will bounce back quickly.
  7. I may have seen a few of them glued to major city intersections in the last few days.
  8. He basically quoted Mahoney saying we are happy โ€œright nowโ€ to keep pick 3 unless a really good offer is made. So we are putting it out there.
  9. That is disappointing if we were looking to trade pick 3 with Carlton as it suggests that GWS hasnโ€™t approached us with a very good deal. On the other hand what could Carlton offer other than 9 and a player.
  10. Where is the poster who said we havenโ€™t done anything and Saints and Carlton are killing it. They have done nothing and we are the only club who has done the 2 trades predicted.
  11. Poor relationship with a few players and loss of faith in him by others.
  12. Interesting to see if we have identified a key forward.
  13. Camporeale was seen to be too close to Pyke. No other finding against him. Wouldn't have thought loyalty was a bad thing.
  14. Sorry didn't see your edit. Fair enough I understand your position.
  15. Not for me.
  16. First, don't make things up. Where did I say the difference in the draft picks is nothing? It clearly is something, but also clearly very little when you consider all along we were looking at losing 22. Second. How can you say a deal that is better than everyone on here was prepared to take, is a bad deal. I suppose we should have got him for nothing. I agree that is a better deal, but I don't think it would have happened. I agree with your last point, we can agree to differ.
  17. Explain to me how you would have got a better deal than we got? Most on here were expecting at best to lose 22. We didn't, we went down 4 spots and instead they get what hopefully will be a worse pick for them if we improve on 17th, in a worse draft. Please explain how we could have done better getting a good player?
  18. Not in this trade. I posted a few days ago that he would be reasonable with us and he certainly was. He can't be criticized in this trade as we have done extremely well. I don't care what he does with the Saints or anyone else, he was good with us this time.
  19. We have given away a hopefully lower pick, in a worse draft next year, for dropping 4 spots on 22 this year in a stronger draft and got our man. That is great negotiating!
  20. Mark Stevens said tonight he could confirm that GWS will be making a big offer to us to get 3. Many of us have posted 3 for 6, since it got to GWS and a player, preferably Caldwell. That would be a good deal for us as we would probably grab the bloke we want with 6, maybe Weightman. But he said big deal and that could include another pick, maybe 40 which they got as compo for Tomlinson. We are in the box seat here to do a huge deal. As for Esava, it won't be happening.
  21. A cheese platter.
  22. Frost deal getting close and could be done tomorrow. Most likely we want 30, as does GWS, for Patton. That is probably the hold up.
  23. And we love the Weid.
