Won't be leaving soon, after our great season in 2020.

Thank you DemonOX, but I am happy to leave that title with our own great Ethan Tremblay and just provide some assistance to him here and there.

I fear this bird ( Martin ) has already flown.
  4. Thank you Ernie and so eloquently stated, as befitting your journalistic artistry.

No, confirmed on the back page of the Sun today.
  6. I don't see us switching 3, especially if we want Young. However we could switch 8 if we thought the player we wanted could be, or is gone then and we can get 2 other players we are nearly as happy to have with lower picks. It really is a chess game. I think the clubs know who each other wants, down to about the first 10 picks and after that it is a bit more speculative, for the next 10 or so picks.

The problem is not spending the cap, it is telling our players we can only pay them so much, because of the cap and then offering a large amount to a player from another club. That breeds mistrust and disharmony.
  8. Any houses fallen over yet?

On 10/22/2019 at 5:25 PM, Redleg said: "I heard a whisper that SOS is leaving the Blue scum. Anyone else heard anything on that topic?" You heard it first on the No T$ no BS thread, where all the major footy news is broken.
  10. So for those like Ernie and WJ who want to end this thread, it was the first to break this major piece of Footy News. Even Ethan T will acknowledge the far reaching news resources of Redleg and the thread. Long may this thread live and inform the world.
  11. We need to get this bloke back playing, as he was a very good player a few years ago.
  12. Is this another Kysaiah Pickett thread?
  13. No and thank you for the compliment Ernie. We don't need to close threads as if nobody reads them or posts them they get consigned to the lower pages of DL. Since I find it a sanctuary, from the constant personal attacks on posters who proffer a different opinion, on most other threads, it needs to remain, as a place where Demon fans can come and be entertained or voice their opinion, without fear of denigration. I am even in favour of football topics being discussed on here and here is one to start some discussion, among the illuminari of this wonderful thread. AVB and KK need to play a large number of games for us this year or they will be off the list at season's end. Also, I fail to understand why we kept the Wagners, who I don't see getting games this year and who are not as good as several of the DFA's available and many of the kids who are in the draft. Discuss away people.

He actually plays as a small, tall forward, not a tall, small forward.
  15. I actually like jelly.
  16. That would probably mean losing the bloke we want at 8. Also Pickett could go before the 2nd pick we get, IF we actually wanted him. That is what they would have to weigh up.
  17. Serious staying power, he should be at Cup week.
  18. Agree if you could get the player at 7 you wanted at 3, but he will be gone.
  19. The rule is designed to ensure fan discussion and media speculation on players in the cricket season, so that the AFL is front and centre year round. It has nothing to do with the efficient running of a sporting competition.
  20. I think the Bennell announcement will help us to get Murray.
  21. You are wrong, in that he is now ours. The arrangement re training allows him to be taken as a supplemental player and placed onto our rookie list. That way the pressure of fans and media is avoided and he can be uplifted, if he is to be selected in the senior side. If not he merely stays on the rookie list. The fact that it is announced, means he has selected us but can't train with us for a couple of weeks, until the relevant period starts.
  22. Answer: he is off the list.
  23. I don't think he will be complacent, given this is probably his last chance at an AFL career, but then again who really knows these guys. Have you all noticed that he is a smaller replacement for you know who? Similar attributes with a smaller build.
