Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
The point I was making is that these blokes are good footballers who play mainly off a hbf and contribute to their team's success. To say you wouldn't use pick 3 to pick up a top hbf, who can set up play for you, seems misguided. It doesn't have to be used on a FF or midfielder. Pick 3 should be used to get a player who hopefully can play 200 games of good footy with us and this bloke looks a good chance of that. In other words you pick the best player available at our pick.

Preseason Draft
No worries, there should be plenty of them everywhere.

Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
Not saying you are wrong, but I am not sure we have decided 100% yet, nor told anyone. To be widely known among other clubs seems very strange, unless, they all agree Young is the next best player in the draft and they are assuming because they would take him, we will too. Whatever, thanks for posting your info and I hope you are right. Now we need to nail pick 8.

Houli, Tom Stewart, Tom Langdon, Callum Mills, Jarryn Geary, Sicily, Hurn, Andrew McGrath, Zac Williams etc all say hello.

I think this bird has flown and we need to look elsewhere.

Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
The more I hear about this kid, the more I want to keep 3, take him and hopefully have a good player for the next 10 years. Splitting picks is great except the chances of getting a really good player decrease. If we nail it with 3 and 8, that is 2 players who should be added, very soon to our best 22. With Langdon and Tomlinson that is 4. 4 best 22 in one year is a fantastic haul and well over the odds. We need to get it right with these 2 picks. With 2nd year players in Sparrow, Jordon and Nieta also chances to make it, we are in a good position. We can then cherry pick another draftee and maybe a DFA or 2 plus some rookies.

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
That’s if he is there at 8 and if he is the one we want.

Dr Peter Brukner
He was our club Doctor for a few years and is one of the highest credentialled and most experienced Sports Docs around. A great get.

Jacob Townsend
And a far bigger NO from me.

Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
Only based on video highlights and reading what others, including the so called young talent experts have said, that would be the ideal result for me.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
But it would probably mean missing the 2 boys many of us want in Young and Kemp. Memories of the Kelly deal start flooding back.

Compensation for Loss of NT Academy Zone
Good questions. Do we still have rights over the players we have developed? Next, what compensation do we get for losing the zone? Wonder if we could tell Jack Martin that we want to bring in several indigenous boys and that he and Nev would be great mentors for them.

Recruiting a 3rd tall forward to find another 50 goals?
Though he is a beautiful mark I wouldn't class him as a tall. He is smaller than Hannan and we wouldn't call him a tall. He is marginally taller than Jake and Tracc and they are not talls. IMO we still need another key tall 193 cms plus. PS. I hope Fritter is a permanent forward from now on, as with Tom and Weid playing ok, he is a 40 goal forward.

Jack Martin
Interestingly he was happy to go to the Bombers in 2018, so he has had interest in other clubs.

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
And not playing in the position he played, when he was drafted.

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
This boy could become a very good AFL player.

Wylie Buzza
2016–2019 Geelong 9 games 6 goals Hardly encouraging stats. Even with Ratagalea out he couldn't get games. There has to better in the state leagues.

The List: Post 2019 Trade Period
I think we will. Murray has been mentioned and they are probably assessing others.
