  1. I would prefer a backup ruckman rookied.
  2. I see our priorities as another winger, quick half back and small forward. Depending on whether we move on a few more players on medium salary, or Tom on larger salary or both, will determine who we bring in. Also, whether we think Bedford can cover the extra small forward role and Hunt/Baker can cover the other two roles. I would be happy to rookie a spare ruckman as insurance.
  3. Still wondering about that left wing.
  4. Yep! Not the swap, the injury. Curnow suffered a fractured kneecap while completing his rehabilitation on the same knee that has haunted him for more than two seasons. He will undergo surgery on Wednesday. While the club was unable to put a timeframe on his return on Tuesday night, they suggested last year an injury of a similar nature would take at least 3-4 months to recover.
  5. Why am I not shocked? Some clubs are getting top 10 players from NGA and we get donuts. Well we got Bedford. Can't think of anyone else. Absolutely screwed again by the AFL taking away our NT zone and can't recall us doing anything about it.
  6. The reality is that you have to keep moving on the NQR players in your quest for a better team. That is why the scattergun approach doesnโ€™t work and cherry picking and drafting well is the path to success. Getting a BB and another best 22 player this year is a mile better than getting 5 x 25-35 ranked players.
  7. Thanks I thought the memory was still ok.
  8. With Preuss and Hannan gone, a few players delisted and maybe VDB, ANB and Oscar gone, even without Tom leaving and at this stage only BB in, we should have created some cap space. If that is where it lands, I believe we will bring in another player and if Tom goes, more than one.
  9. Was it Garry Lyon in a semi against Dogs or did Jakovich do it?
  10. Done, just got message from Club.
  11. May be some evidence very soon.
  12. What, Wright is going on Big Brother?
  13. They are probably one club that should go for Tom. I think the SCG suits Tom, as the ball comes in quickly and he can play close to goal.
  14. Swans now talking to Paddy McCartin, brother of their player Tom.
  15. Tom Mac says hi.
  16. He won't be getting that from anybody.
  17. I think Hawks ruled themselves out today on both Treloar and Phillips, but yes they do lie and Bell walked away from Hogan 2 years ago and we know what happened then.
  18. If we said to Phillips, 3 years at $400k, which is your $1m owed for 2 from Pies, plus an extra year reduced he gets another year guaranteed playing and with a slight easing of tax, he wouldn't lose much if anything with lower income and another year of deductions. Pies would just about hand him to us for nothing, as they need a domino to fall and quickly. Maybe we are just not interested in him. Surely he is better than AVB, ANB, Jetta and Jones at their age, Hibberd with one year left, M.Brown, Smith and a number of others. Anyway this is a strange trade period, so in a few days we will know where we are.
  19. Well, if we want him he could now be ours for the taking, as no apparent interest from other clubs and Pies desperate to make cap space. One would think with Langdon controlling one wing, Phillips with some help from Baker, Hunt and Tomlinson, could manage the other. Wing positions filled.
  20. Drop a bit more weight and work on acceleration and holding marks if he stays.
  21. Why, he is average or below on everything except tackles. Less than 10 disposals a game. We already have those. 9.8 AVERAGE KICKS 5.6 AVERAGE HANDBALLS 4.2 AVERAGE MARKS 1.7 BELOW AVG TACKLES 2.8 ABOVE AVG GOALS 0.6 AVERAGE
  22. Add Kent and Parker and Hind atm to the list and more mids in Hanneberry, Bytel, Ross, Steele and Phillips, That is 17 small mids/fwds before Higgins arrives. I just can't understand why a small forward would choose the Saints. To me it is just crazy.
  23. Why not, everyone else does?
  24. Havenโ€™t tried Max there. Tom is far too slow and immobile to play wing.
