  1. He wasn't "uncontracted" he was a rooky. I guess the issue with Valenti was that MFC were allways going to get more midfielders in this years draft.
  2. I think Gold Coast will be happy with this arrangement. Beams (a Gold Coaster) contract will be up at the end of next season and Collingwood will struggle to compete now they have committed to Ball on $500K for 2011. I would have preferred Ball over J McDonald but I could not see Ball getting another contract at MFC after the next three years; so I believe he has made the right decision for himself. Although I can't see why someone would quit a team that has played in a GF (and should have won it); really all StK wanted him to do was get his body right and this will be no different at any other club.
  3. I don't believe so; next year Melbourne will play Watts, Garland, Martin, Bate, Miller, Jamar and Jurrah forward at times. I don't think that their ready to give up on Newton either.
  4. big chance to get to Freo. Would not rule out Richmond, can play at either end and what other choices will be there at PSD time?
  5. The more I see of Scully the more he reminds me of Paul Kelly.
  6. I can't see Ball going past pick 18; typically Essendon are smoking the same weed as Collingwood.
  7. When did you graduate from the school of Grant Thomas? Nothing, absolutely nothing can compensate for a poor ruckman; especially when they give frees away in front of goal.
  8. I would give them 2 & Jamar for Boak and pick 9. They get Trengrove and Jamar and Melbourne get Boak (who is proven) and pick 9 and neither club worries about them wanting to return home.
  9. Not a bad player, but he is a medium forward that can only play in one position. With Jurrah and a bunch of (potential) small forwards like Wonna, Jetta Melbourne are looking for another Key Forward to assist Watts. If he walked out on WCE I would consider him for PSD, but that ain't gonna happen
  10. i'd don't think either will get the deal done, Port will prob pass on 9 & Lovett. For Melb to get Burgoyne, it will cost pick 2; but Port will start negoiations with picks 1 & 2 then move to pick 2 and a player... But for all this to happen Burgoyne must choose MFC. If he does Melb have the upper hand b/c of PSD pick 1. It would be interesting if Burgoyne chooses Ess and the deal can't be done; could be another Nick Stevens because Melb, Freo, WCE, Rich, Syd could all afford him under any $ he puts on his head to try and get to the bummers.
  11. Raines has resigned with the Tigers (2 years)
  12. hi Gf is from Sydney. She was on 'Australian Story'.
  13. No doubt St Kilda didn't actually play hard committed football; but one thing I take from the game is that Melbourne found a way through their zone (like Essendon three weeks ago) that not many sides have been able to do this year.
  14. Both are right. 1/2 game too many to get one at the end of the first round this year and no priority picks next year.
  15. Being female will always be an issue, because it is different to what the public expect. In my opinion her biase is not as bad as Eddie's but her style and knowledge about the game and non Geelong players is pretty poor. Kellie will not last long if this does not improve quickly; reguardless of the number of female viewers Ch 10 are trying to pull.
  16. B - Robertson Newton Hughes HB - Jamar P.Johnson Wonaeamirri C - Garland McKenzie McNamara HF - Bail Struass Cheney F - Bartram Frawley Blease R - Valenti Zomer Spencer IC - Meesen Buckley Dunn Jetta
  17. Couldn't image that you could get the "ultimate physical specimen" that ugly (ie bald and toothless).
  18. Gary Ablett also played a lot of that year in the backline so I think that these figures are dodgey.
  19. With Jarryd White out; they lack forward line depth. They really miss Kennedy. It shows that recruiting Judd does have its downside.
  20. Davey is trying to get the ball moving, like Jones has playeed this year. There are risks in playing that way but with Melbourne's forward line structure, moving the ball quickly is the only way they will score. Don't criticise a guy who is doing as he is instructed.
  21. I think they both will be great... I can still remember the Johnstone v Ottens debate and they are BOTH at their second club and it is irrelevant to Richmond and Melbourne who is better now. Lets not stew this over, Nik Nat will probably never be seen in Navy Blue and Red (and now that Pratt is dead probably not is navy blue either).
  22. Bennell didn't play at Casey yesterday. I believe that he is kept out in case someone (Junior?) doesn't come up and if they do then he will get a week's break which being a first year player his body may well welcome.
  23. Rivers missed a game because of "general soreness". Considering it was his first year not a surprise.
