    Daffy

Of all the changes over the past few weeks, my gut query is about Misson. Happy enough with the rest. Not Misson. Hope I'm wrong.
  2. Morton? Haha. You joke surely.
  3. He would be best served by keeping his mouth shut, and letting his footy (if he gets on the park) do the talking.
  4. Music to my ears (re Davey): "He's got to get himself fit enough, make sure he's taking in all the education about those roles, and we're going to give him the chance to put his best foot forward. "If he does, no problems, he plays, plays really well and the supporters will love him. If he's unable to do that, he simply doesn't play and the supporters at Casey will have to love him." An outsiders view of MFC's "best"? The comments in the press re Watts are certainly strong. Ed.: Does this mean players have to earn their spot? Shock...Horror!
  5. Couldn't have put it better Rhino. 2 years of a $400k? contract to go......hmm Was Davey on the track this past week? Any one notice him? As much as anyone, he needs a massive pre-season.
  6. I best remember the same game (Vs filth) but early 1st qtr. Bail ran massive distance to demand/take an over the top pass from Bate? and then run into an open goal. An absolute game turner. This guy is bone hard, has great endurance, glides over the ground in an unbelievable manner, and takes the game on.
  7. First I heard of the out-clause. Like Scully, Buckly was drafted with a 2 year contract. Like Scully, he had to wait 2 years before he could move to another club. Like Scully, he showed few signs of wanting to stay at his original club. FWIW, I reckon Scully would have moved to a different club even if the GWS $s hadn't appeared.
  8. Doubt Morton's skinfolds would have been too flash. Caro has reported his salary to be 100k - that's at least 1 rookie they won't have access to each year for 5? years, unless they have front-loaded him too. Agreed The major/only factor in the compensation was the size of his contract. $1M more than the other clubs in 2012, I think. Clearly having trouble spending it. Shades of Buckley going to Brisbane. There certainly is a bit of the same feel. I must say, in the off-footy season, GWS is providing lots of entertainment. Hardly surprising: Sheedy, Williams, Allan are all nutters. Wonder how Silvagni is feeling? (He's the one defending the fathers appointment in the press.)
  9. Ha ha ha ha. Good one. We don't want/need courageous players, we need hard players. Morton has had courageous moments, but he naturally lacks hardness. So when he shirks a contest, it looks really bad. Bennel is another. Another way of saying it is that we need players who "enjoy the contest". Morton does not. Ed: Morton was re-signed before Neeld was appointed. Wonder if he would have agreed with that.
  10. Way too easy to walk in and say "you guys are crap....you need to be 50% fitter". He will be judged in 12 months as to whether they are, and soft tissue injuries are low. Remember, it was he who managed Ball for 3? years but couldn't manage his OP. The filth worked it out in 12 months.

    Best 22

Firstly, all the power forwards in the comp play CHF - that's where Clark should play. FF? Maybe Howe Morton does not get a gig; nor does Davey on 2011 form. So: B: Rivers Frawley Tapscott HB: Grimes Garland Bail C: Blease Moloney Trengove HF: Watts Clark Sylvia F: Jurrah Howe Green R: Jamar Gysberts McKenzie I: Martin, Jones, Petterd, Bartram
  12. My point exactly.
  13. Anybody else think the "my dad's sick and I want to be near him, but I'll only go to the bummers" line is ridiculous. If he really 'had' to return to Melbourne, he'd let GC trade with any Melbourne based club.
  14. Thought he was going to retire - chronic injuries (shoulders?)
  15. I think the MFC have treated Warnock poorly. He wanted a trade at the end of '10, wanting more opportunities. We said: No, you're a required player. We then gave him 1? game in '11. His market/contract value must have suffered accordingly (let alone his trade value). He has a right to be peeved IMO.
  16. Easily, I would have thought, and by quite some margin.
  17. Pretty sure Warnock is still contracted.
  18. I doubt he will come to us.. If getting home was the issue, then we miss out If getting out of the lions was the issue, then I bet GWS has already had a go at him, and heaps more coin than us; again we miss out
  19. I think the quote was "up to $800k a year". Surely this would be front loading, with say $2m over 4 years. No way is he a $800k a year player. And as Ralph twittered: "RalphyHeraldSun Just a thought on Mitch Clark - Dees offering millions over 4 years but he kicked only 27 goals this year as sole forward. No superstar" Ed: latest Ralph twitter: "RalphyHeraldSun Demons are saying $800K a year for Mitch Clark funny money. Closer to $500K is more accurate. Didn't offer Scully that. Making massive play" Sounds more like it.
  20. Not sure. Getting here was hype. Staying here is the hard part I reckon. Also, Jurrah is not your normal AFL player: talk of him being involved in a trade is ridiculous i believe. He will play for MFC or no-one.
  21. RL, you been reading tea leaves recently?
  22. Crap. He (Jurrah) has put in some great cameos, and shown some real talent. But, he has a long way to go before he is a real star of the game. My prediction: I reckon he will walk away from the game in the near distant.
  23. Jeez I laughed when read this. Krakouer and his manager really appreciated the lifeline the filth gave him. Quickest way to get himself back into the WAFL I would have thought.
  24. I think Lyon made some statements after Scully left along the lines of: "(paraphrasing) they had better watch out.....we have money to spend....they will get theirs". Maybe that's what's being referred to.
