  1. I do know that at restarts after a goal, on several occasions, there were only 3 mfc players in the square - a 4th had to be called in (on 1 occasion, disastrously). Sure this is a coaching thing? - Royal? Whatever Royal's KPIs are, to the outsider, they seem to be non-existent.
  2. This would be coaching I think: Part way through 3rd qtr, after a goal, mfc had only 3 players in the centre square for the ball up. Bail was on a wing with Delidio; Bail was called in to make 4. Ball up, ball cleared by tiges out to Delidio on the wing. Commentators made a comment about Delidio's man leaving him on his own! This was not the only time this happened, but the one I remember the clearest. This is coaching surely? Maybe the players don't know what's going on? Ed: I forgot to mention that when Bail went into the centre, no one covered Delidio.
  3. The publicity Webjet have received over the past few hours is enormous. Whatever they paid, I reckon they have their money's worth already.
  4. Don't stress. Only a paper team - will line up very differently. Like the look of the team. And I like the feel of this week; very calm, even tempered. No dramatics. I have a good feeling.
  5. I emailed them last night, with screen shots. Should not be hard to fix; they announced by twitter days ago that it was fixed; well before the iPhone app - clearly someone has got it wrong.
  6. Just sent off screen shots to the club. We'll see what happens. Thought more folks would be using the app; its quite good.
  7. I use, and like, the MFC android app. But the energy watch logo is still staying on the app. Uninstalling and re-installing doesn't fix it. Anybody else use it, and still have the EW logo (or doesn't have it?)? The club says its been 'fixed'; I have twittered them, but no response.
  8. We lost Thomson, and with the pick got Moloney. Loss x 2 = simple.
  9. Bartell's name never came up. Get a grip. Ed: I know the machinations of the trade; we got pick the pick 12 for Scotty Thomson. <sigh>. Talk about losing twice.
  10. Touche Ed: at the moment, the work ethic of many players is pathetic. They just MUST work harder. Gut run for a start should be the "mantra".
  11. Bartram does for a start. He works his arse off every week; pity more don't.
  12. Rubbish. First I heard of Bartell's name being put forward. Bartell was a sub 10 draft pick; Moloney was picked in pre-season draft ie about 100 picks later.
  13. Well said; agree on both counts. Both these players are hard, work hard and have a crack - ahead of quite a few others.
  14. Agree with this. On a positive note, at least Clark fronted the media for a substantial interview; didn't say a lot, but he must step up and be a front man regularly. Reckon he's had some advice from Craig. Neeld mentioned in his presser moving some blokes about (Howe to half back/wing for one). but agree, would like to see, eg, Clark moved to the ruck for a bit. Ed: last sentence
  15. Day 186 against Geelong; Moloney had no touches til half-time and got subbed. Apparently went into the game with a cold/flu. Don't know if club knew about it, but I presumed they did; maybe wrong.
  16. Absolutely. Even better, he got plenty of uncontested ball as well as contested.
  17. He certainly doesn't seem to "impact" a game in an obvious way. But clubs see something in him: it was Adelaide who was keen to get him a coupla years ago; story was he stayed with us because we rookied him and gave him a chance. Loyalty.
  18. Could be he will develop hamstring tightness. We will see.
  19. IMO Bartram was very good - gut ran to give options. And he's in the leadership group. And for mine, Tynan was one of the few to have a crack; didn't look out of place at all. Unlike many others, he didn't spectate. Reckon Sellar, Morton, Pettard, Tapscott, Lawrence, Couch, Dunn & McDonald are all a chance to play (in no particular order). And for height (WC play very tall), Fitzpatrick MAY come into it. Some of Davey, 2 mids (take your pick), MacDonald, Rivers, Martin, Blease may make way. Ed: added Blease
  20. very good point.
  21. It was only a few years ago that Melbourne was everyone's second club; everyone seemed to have a soft spot for us. Not now. 3+ years of Bailey (bruise free footy, tanking, 20? early draft picks, grandstanding, stupid delistings, silly selections). We are now viewed with contempt. The football world has turned on us, and is ridiculing us. Hard to defend at the moment.
  22. Watched an interview with Moloney on Footy Classified. Summary: its only the first game....and ....THE coach will do what he needs to. (He spoke about Neeld in the 3rd person and not by name, with respect to selections.) Scary. Moloney is not buying into the new regime. Days numbered?
  23. 3 or 4 yrs ago I posted that the 1st character we should be looking for in the draft is an apatite for the contest. Then look at skills, etc. nothing has changed; we and many clubs have got it wrong - its just that it means so much more to us because we have a [censored] senior list.
  24. It was Matthews who traded TJ to the Lions (for a first round pick). not sure he should be such a smart arse when it comes to trades.
  25. The facebook page is a non-event: some pics of Moloney, Jones, McLean, Watts, Simon Buckley and Morton? at a table and standing around a car. Updated over a year ago. Good grief. Ed: Theres plenty more albums here: https://www.facebook...s/?id=553694988 Just social events; some with MFC players, some not. You might have to log into facebook to see them.
