  1. Always find this interesting. Player Total Coach1 Coach2 Moloney 10 5 5 Jones 7 3 4 Sylvia 4 1 3 Green 4 4 0 Jamar 3 2 1 Frawley 2 0 2 That's my logical deduction. Coach1 = ? Coach2 = ?
  2. yep Ed: why promote anybody? Campbell is not ready. Why promote a mid - who would they replace? Howe promoted maybe to release Dunn, but he is not a rookie.
  3. Haven't read all the comments on this thread, but .... IMO, the tackle was reckless and 'slinging'. 3 weeks is excessive I believe, but he was always in trouble. Having said that, thank heavens for some hardness! If Dangerfield hadn't been hurt, he probably would have got a caution/slap. So it goes.
  4. 6. Moloney 5. Jamar 4. Trengove 3. Bail 2. Petterd 1. Sylvia
  5. He played for Sturt.
  6. Sure they do. There have been topics on this before - Pink Jumpers. Maybe do a search before starting a new topic next time? Seems the 'colour' depends on whether you are watching live or on TV, whether bright sun or not, whether day or night game.
  7. Read somewhere recently that Melbourne, Richmond and 2 others were looking ahead to 'free agency' to get a marquis (my word) player. Wasn't sure what to make of it; still don't.
  8. Body weight is not what Morton lacks.

    Good post.
  10. Christ, you can be a [censored] when you are in the mood. WYL is simply saying that this weeks rage is supporter generated, pure and simple, and is not following the media. What supporters are saying here is not the result of the media. Understand?
  11. I'm with WYL. Thursday was Hawks 3rd qtr revisited, which was any game you like in the first half of 2008 revisited. This is simply supporter rage. Remember, it was Green after the Hawks game who said he thought such efforts/games were behind them (referring to 2008). Nothing I have seen this year suggests this is so; Thursday confirms it. The media are simply vultures; they can smell a carcus a mile off and will feed off it given half a chance. The MFC is giving them plenty of chance.
  12. Absolutely. Posted that hope months ago. In a heartbeat.
  13. Morton is an interesting one. At the time of his year's draft, half the clubs (apparently) rated him top 5 or so, the other half didn't rate him at all (because of a percieved 'lack of liking for a contest'). MFC were obviously in the former group, picking him at 4. For mine, the second group had it right. Whatever, I doubt whether Hardwick (or whoever) would have made any difference.
  14. There should be an option for Bailey to stay beyond this year. Having said that, if Bailey is not re-signed by mid year, I would expect him to depart, and we would have a caretaker coach. (Which may well give Viney a chance; bit like Primus.)
  15. Essenden have just kicked 15 goals in a quarter of footy. vs GC. Good heavens.
  16. Agree 100%. Could not have put it better. I suspect he's angling at a career after football. That said, I presume he and Ch10 organised this some time ago; both would be embarrassed about the timing (at least I hope he is).
  17. Nicholson is a rookie. So no elevation to seniors until TLI.
  18. Probably 2 reasons: 1. Not everyone uses Facebook, especially older folks - I can barely be bothered. 2. Your real name is revealed, no an alias
  19. Ha ha ha ha. Good one. Whatever you're taking, I'd like some. Ed: your => you're
  20. The turning point was, imo, the 3rd quarter against Hawthorn. Reminiscent of our worst efforts in 2008 & 2009; I think it rocked everybody - could it be we are still that bad? Optimism has been replaced with a deep doubt. Where did that appalling quarter come from: most of us had believed that we were past that. After 4 years, we are still capable of delivering that rubbish? (Neither Bailey or Green helped by talking up Hawthorn after the game, FFS) FWIW, I think that 3rd quarter will be a defining moment for Bailey.
  21. And Troy Wilson is a household name? Who?
  22. Can't be done, most/many years. Shared that is. ANZAC day can be any day of the week - say a Wednesday. The draw needs to be manipulated significantly just to get 2 teams playing with equitable timing (days rest etc). Rostering on more games would be very difficult/impossible. QB game a bit different - always a Monday.
  23. The most interesting part of this is the voting MUST have been: Moloney - 5,5 Grimes - 3,2 Jamar - 2,3 Trengove - 4,0 Sylvia - 0,4 Davey - 1,0 Bail - 0,1 Which means 1 coach voted Trengove 4 (2nd BOG), the 2nd gave him zip. And the 2nd coach gave 4 to Sylvia and the 1st gave him zip. Go figure.
  24. I picked it up from an article by Gary Lyon about AFL teams having their own VFL side. Here. (The emphasis is mine.) I have suggested that perhaps MFC players don't have faith in Watts. Just suggested, mind. Ed: expanded the emphasis
  25. But it might give him credibility with the other players if they don't "trust" him.
