Take a bex and have a lie down Currie ..... frustration is everywhere.

6. Frawley 5. T MacDonald 4. Martin 3. Bail 2. Trengove 1. Sylvia (decision making is so very ordinary) Apologies to McKenzie and Nicholson. Blease needs more than 6 kicks and 2 h/balls to get a gong. Jones disappeared in 2nd half. Howe needs to lift intensity; he's not playing bush footy now.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

small and waifer thin..............hope he grows a heap. Mushrooms anyone? -
It wasn't: Wellingham: 5 weeks, reduced to 4 because he has played long enough for a clean slate, reduced to 3 with early plee. Trengove: 3 weeks, hasn't played long enough to earn a clean slate, challenged finding, no reduction Having said that, should have gone strait to tribunal; dog act was deliberate. Ed.: bold highlight

We had one of those at the start of last year. Sank without trace as far as I know.
-
I think you make a good point. Green may be past his best, but we can't afford to lose any more of our older players; depends if he's interested in a coaching career.
-
I think it should have gone straight to the tribunial; no discounts.
-
Boak yes (no 1 in a modest mid-field); Beames no (3rd or 4th in a gun mid-field; not tagged)
-
What about Howe FF? Can play in the Franklin mould: quick/good leader, great mark, big tank who can wander up ground. Howe was playing FF when recruited. Bit of a no brainer to me.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY

F/S must be nominated Oct 5 with resolution/meeting just before trade period (Oct 8-26). Nat Draft Nov 22. So, No. -
....because we are getting him as a father/son pick.
-
I wish to hell he'd do away with the "panicky" attempts to hack/kick the ball off the ground. On Saturday, he connected twice - result 2 goals to the tiges; twice he missed all together - looked very ordinary.

Makes no difference. To get to his club of choice, he needs to be traded; whether he speaks up now or later is immaterial. To go into the ND or PSD, he can only stipulate his financial requirements, not location of the club - so he risks going to GWS or GC. If MFC stays 3rd last or lower, they are a reasonable chance of getting Boak through the draft, as GC is downsizing and trying to keep its young guns. Having said that, as mentioned earlier, Port is unlikely to do a "Nick Stevens" again, so will be looking to get what they can for him (and you'd think Boak would want Port to get decent compensation). Comes down to where he wants to go. MFC has the best draft picks/compensation on offer; they must now convince him to come to the club. They convinced Clark, so you never know. We certainly have more coin to offer; seeing Geelong slide down the ladder would you'd think help our cause as well. Ed. Of course, if Geelong slide low enough, their first pick gets a whole lot better.

Disagree. As the game progressed, his physicality showed. He took at least 1 mark on a lead, made several clearances AND we (seemed) to win the clearances when he was rucking. (Martin got more touches but at what cost? he tapped constantly to tigers mids as if they were calling him. FFS) AND, Ivan Maric had his least effective game for the year. (SC=79 points)

6......... 5. Jones (The crude agricultural up-country hacks/kicks when he tries for distance are a real blot on his game. Stuff you only see in park footy. ) 4. Trengove 3. Sylvia (The absurd attempted kick off the grounds are just stupid; 2 missed, 1 2 cost a goal.) 2. Nicholson 1. McKenzie Ed: the tiges first goal came after a Sylvia kick off the ground
-
Heavens. You'd have to think this means that we won't have to use our 1st round draft pick to get him then. Ed: if another clubs says they would give pick 1 to 5 for him, they could be considered tampering with the draft.
-
Nope, unrestricted means original club can't just match the offer and keep him. Indeed, a player can go to another club for less $s, but wants to have a crack at a premiership (for example).
-
Depends; Goddard is free agent so maybe better to trade than sweat on AFL compensation offered. For starters McLean is out of contract ($350k) as is Warnock (I think; $400k). On the face of it, that frees up lots of $s. Hmmm.....good point. Depends if Goddard wants to do the right thing by the saints.
-
Pretty sure about this; read it in a few places - one link. I think MFC is paying 100% of TPP in 2012 by heavily front loading some contracts with younger players. They have done this to get salary room to go after established players (including those in free agency). Boak would have to be a target; not sure about who else. And I guess Cloke, though IMO $1m is too much for any 1 player - carlton's list lacks depth because of it (and paying overs for others eg $400k Warnock and McLean). Thoughts?
-
Think you'll find that the father/son situation is sorted BEFORE players or picks can be traded. So we can't get rid of our first pick to push Viney to a 2nd rounder.
-
Reckon Bail is best 22, and Nicholson not far off. The others aren't "hacks"; but not best 25 IMO.
-
Sadly contracted. And who would want him in a trade. His brother (Mitch) got a third shot at the Swans and is sinking without trace. QED

The AFL web site highlights a video of the Morton turnover and subsequent "interaction" with Neeld on the boundary. The video is called "Coach killer". Says it all. Ed: reckon its a real turning point; the footage - game and with Neeld - will be replayed for eternity (like the footage of Morton and Lade from 5 years ago).
-
Hahahahaha.....good one....a joke surely? FFS He's had more than enough. Hahahahaha..even a bigger joke I would not ignore him...that's for sure. FWIW, I don't think Neeld gave him a spray in the sense he was yelling abuse at him....looked more to me like he was making a comment about using his preferred foot (guessing at lip reading). G Lyon absolutely bagged Morton on the radio; intensity, double and tripple fumbles etc. Wrote him of really. Morton only has running ability as a plus. 5 years now (and no Bailey plugging for him). Done and dusted; doubt he is of much trade value either (especially give the Morton family history).

And his line of business was .......horticulture? :-) (Sorry, couldn't help myself!)
