POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 18
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Who'd of thought beating Collingwood could get any better? Post game in the lift with mostly Melbourne fans. Stop at level 3 and in walks none othen Eddie Maguire. You could hear a pin drop. I asked him how the call went to which he replied " yeah! ". More silence followed before i replied geez i knew i should have taped press red for Ed! His reply.....Hhhmmm! ......Followed by more silence. All is well in the world tonight!!! -
I'll be there today. Its looking very ordinary outside although the wind has died and it is only spitting at the moment. Im hoping Dawes is a late exclusion, cant see him giving us any value in this weather, let alone in perfectly dry weather. I dont give us much chance, but we have copped a bit in the media this week which often equates to improved performance from our team. Their forwardline looks pretty average, if we can match them in the midfield we are not without a chance.

yeah sorry OD i meant to use your quote prior to the Tyson one..... Anyway, expect to see a little more of Michie in the next few rounds. They either rate him or they have told him he has a few weeks to play for his career.
-
Hate to be the bearer of bad news OD but you will be seeing him for a few more weeks yet. Went to a premium members function pre match at the G and Josh Mahoney mentioned that we need to have a good look at him for a few weeks. Said he is far to good a player at VFL level and we need to see if he can start bringing some of that form into the seniors. Id be expecting to see him in the starting 21 next week. Besides, he was far from our worst yesterday in his 1 qtr.

37 goals... I despise Essendon but it was actually good to watch a game with so many goals. Just like the 90s when it occured regularly

26000 on a friday night.... Bigger crowd at the worst game of all time last Sunday at the G!!

Training - Friday 24th July, 2015
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to jimcor's topic in Melbourne Demons
Drove past before training was on and Kent was running laps at 3/4 pace. Looked ok to me but clearly no need to be rushing him back. But geez id love him to run around for Casey again this week n come back for the Pies! -
POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 16
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep, very happy i made a last minute decision to stay home due to a virus. Whilst it was ugly, skills at times deplorable from both sides, this had Port n GWS matches written all over it in the 3rd. They were on a roll and we stayed composed whereas it had glimpses of us rolling over. Big Max has had an amazing month. He has the confidence in his ability now and i reckon he doubted himself previously. Big future awaits he is still very young in ruckman terms. Impressed with Harmes, definitley stays on the list next year. vDB is very important for us, one of the best no name low profile recruits in 20 years. -
How did you end up following the Mighty Dees?
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Frosty Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
1 As a 5 yo i was a Tiger with Wayne Walsh no 7 on my back. Dad n older bro were Dees. Old man told me id never get to see them play unless it was against the Dees, so wisely made the change. Little did i know Id be doomed either way. 2 Laurie Fowler. We got in the rooms after most home games and he always had time for us, as did Robbie and believe it or not Jacko, but Laurie was my man! 3 87 rd 22 v Footscray and following elimination n semi 4 The past 10 years 5 Ive cried twice as a Dees fan. 87 prelim and at Tulips ceremony at the G last year -
PHIL WALSH TRIBUTE THREAD

I cant remember too many more emotional moments in sport in my lifetime than what i just witnessed then. Those young fellas are going through hell. Kudos to West Coast, unbelievable respect shown by both the players and the crowd. -

Geez i held back tears watching those Crows boys in the centre circle and then walking off the ground together. Unbelievably emotional. Well done to West Coast and their fans for the respect they showed those young men. They are going through hell, it is painful to see. -
Changes next week vs The Bears
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Grimes has to come in. Was in very good form pre injury. Probably drop Stretch and play Grimes as a defensive forward on Hanley if he runs off half back. Would not be upset to see Howe dropped for Fitz. -
Id say shes all over. Cant see us scoring 300 in the 2nd dig and they currently lead by over 250 with 7 wickets in hand. Dissappointing effort thus far.
-
Drove past Goschs today and saw Vanders, Salem n Kent all jogging at a decent clip. Kent still looks very sore though. Could not believe the size of his upper legs, almost looks a little overweight but i guess that can happen when you dont train for 10 weeks. Great to see them all have a run though!

The wife took our 2 young boys and they had a ball. Got a great pic of them with Roosy. Great initiative by the club
-
Yeah watched it, what a brilliant game, down by more than 5 goals and kept the season alive at that stage. Moloney was very good against his old mob. We did have some epic wins in the Daniher era. Great memories.

Post Match Discussion - Round 12 (never in doubt)
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I actually think that loss spurred us on today. All the leaders stood up. That game may go down as our line in the sand moment. We were ferocious today in one of the most hostile grounds in the comp, with aggression at the ball and opponent that i have not seen for nearly 20 years -

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 11
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
im talking about the last 40 secs Bub.However, to answer your post, We still have a bog ordinary list with zero depth. Our best 22 i feel is pretty solid, but nobody demands a spot as soon as we get injuries, we start filling gaps with players barely AFL standard. Saints had maybe 2 best 22 out, we had arguably 5 or 6, we would beat the saints at full strength comfortably i reckon. Anyway we are still looking at another massive cleanout before we can start to be taken seriously. Bottom 4 easily as i had suspected before the season began. Yes we should have won tonight but Im not wrist slitting like most on here. -
POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 11
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah about 50 or 60 people beat ya to it. Roos was screaming down the phone to push numbers back. I cant understand people blaming Roos for this. The leadership group are the ones that should be taking the heat.Weve got McCartney sitting on the bench, surely he should been onto this before Roos even picked up the phone. -
Yep, well done Lynden, never would have thought he would still be on the list just a few years ago.But....champion??? Really?! Id give him good to very good at times, and yes a good bloke I agree with!

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 10
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I do not like losing one bit, but I walked away as happy as I could be after a loss. We looked gone twice and rallied to get back in front. Last year we would have rolled over at 5 goals down. We did make some shocking errors that cost us the game, but we are making far less errors than last year. We are slowly becoming enjoyable and entertaining to watch. Our clearance work is getting much better and will continue to improve. Gus n Hoges are the most exciting kids I can remember in 20 years, Petracca could be just as good! One more season ending clean out and we will be back in business.
