Whilst i think we did show a little more effort after qtr time its hard not to think that it was mostly due to freo taking the foot off the pedal.In saying that, it had trainwreck written all over it 5 mins into the 2 nd qtr so im OK with the end result. I mentioned this a month ago but worth repeating. I attended a function prior to the Saints game where Josh Mahoney got up and spoke about a few players. It was Michies first game back for months from memory. Mahoney said he had been a class above at VFL level for 4 or 5 weeks and we now need to give him a chance to see what he can do in the seniors for a few weeks. I got the feeling from that discussion that he was told unless he shows something that his career could be shot. 5 weeks later he is still in the 22 and last week was possibly his best game at the club. He is worth perservering with for at least another year i would have thought.

I used to hate Buckley as a player, now i have an enormous amount of respect for him and enjoy hearing him speak. On the other hand, I used to have the utmost respect of James Hird as a player, now I loathe the sight of him and cant bear to hear him speak!

Thought Vince in particular looked sluggish today n Watts lacked his normal composure. Interestingly, todays score was our highest in a loss, and our 4 th highest for the year. kangas are the 3rd highest scoring team in the comp. Certainly far from disgraced today.
