From the players media release and Hirds apology of sorts, I see: They know they took PEDs, They know we (the football public) know, They know we know that they know. I take comfortable satisfaction in that.

No wonder McDevitt isnt keen to appeal. It would probably be to Dougie Hawkins and Shane Crawford on the bench.
-
If ASADA or WADA appeal, to which court gets the hearing? Is it the Court of Arbitration for sport? Or is it the Victorian Court of Appeal? Or is it just a few more tribunal members of the AFL? Its probably been stated but I cant find it, thanks.

This is a dirty business. It is clear we have Liars (pronounced Lawyers) cheats and it seems bribery running the show to rort the system. Moose Henwood is being held up as prince of the courts when he probably wouldnt have stepped into the county court before. Then there are those with their snouts in the trough. It irks me that the legal fraternity now see "fashioning a defense" instead of getting to the truth of the matter as a normal way to apply their trade.

This is good for football. ..isnt it?

Media outlets are portraying Lloyd, Thompson and Watson as outsiders giving considered balanced views. Its not professional and poor form.

Any change must be simple for juniors and the umpire (Juniors themselves) to govern. Ive had the same idea for a couple of years now. Make 2 changes. 1)Every ball up at start of quarter or after a goal, all players except 4 on each team in the center, all others behind the 50 meter line. This gets rid of the center square which (I believe) is now redundant as players will still get to the contest fast or spread. 2) Every Ball up or Ball in around the ground, the umpire(s) check some one is in the 50 meter arc for each team. If not a free kick is given. This will be easy to check especially when the square is removed.

Thanks Saty Your Pre-season has been outstanding.

Kicking excellently off either foot is pretty uncommon but an admired asset. Being able to kick off one step cleanly on one foot within tight margins is more important. Too many use their off foot and take too long, kicking high and slow. They think they are impressing coaches but they arent. Just get on the good foot. Especially if its a goofy foot.

Open training miscommunication - another MFC unforced error

The club isnt there because of you Dee-luded, as youve said you are not a member. Makes me wish I could tell how many of the serial complainers are not members. -
Not sure if you are serious. BB is a player sponsor at the minute and has been for at least 10 years. He is also very generous to the club. I understand he spent a year volunteering his time to the club only a few years ago. Try aiming at one of the posters who donate nothing to the club except advice on Demonland. There are a few about, but you couldnt be more off target with BB.
-
You just keep finding stuff to whinge about! It didnt affect you so why fall in line to complain?
-
It's disappointing to hear this happened. I wish I had checked because it would have been great to go... But it's for those who went and had to leave who should vent in this thread. Channelling others frustration is wrong. Leave it to those who were there to complain.

I have sliced some of your post and it could be argued this puts statements out of context. Its difficult to argue with you BB because you happily change sides in an argument to spice things up. However lately just as my pet peeves include Jamar McKenzie and Grimes, you have some yourself, which you seem passionate about. You have always disliked Dunn and have called him a coward more than once. You defend Grimes and McKenzie to the point that I suspect you sponsor one or both. You bring Dean Bailey into topics where no one had mentioned him or his era. Like Saty you toe the line for your boys, which is admirable. Your arguments have been thought provoking and witty. I dont include the above. I also didnt include where you said McKenzie played his role to perfection because I had to read it twice.
-
At some point you have to say we've seen enough of a player and their attributes. With Grimes and McKenzie at the very least, its not worth waiting any more time because by Round 5 there will be more reasons to extend their chances. I knew Jamar would miss that goal from 5 metres out. It may be that we dont have a better ruck. Jamar has been the same for 10 years. Should we play him anyway? In any case, Ill bet my bottom dollar on Grimes, Garland and Jamar are picked Round one no matter what. Thats what we do.

These plaudits that Jamar is our best Ruck and that Garland is better than Grimes or how someone was close to a Bluey are frustrating because they are true. Who else doesnt have a better 2nd ruck to our 1st? Good HBF are everywhere, why do we have to look to Salem? Who would play any of them?Well other than Essendon? -

McKenzie - should play League, gets it, falls forward. Always. Jamar - Slowest AFL player, seems brainless. Every D'Land player(except 1 or 2) I bet couldnt watch that shot for goal. Didnt get a tap. Grimes - as someone else said has never seemed strong. Not AFL level. pisses me off he always is picked. Garland - asleep at the wheel. Ive never understood all the bouquets he has been given. Might be me. -

Please Paul Roos, understand that Grimes Garland, McKenzie and Jamar have been showing us the same shite for years. Those that remember any good games from these duds need to keep it in context with the players they were better than that day, whom we have already gotten rid of. -
I expect the balloon to be pr!cked in 3 hours time. We just dont have the midfield or the rucks. 5 wins this year. I hope however to see some good passages of play.

I expect Hogan to be reported as wishing to come home by local media whether he fires or not. I expect Freo to come out soft for this early game as they have repeatedly been 2 games stuffed by end of September. I reckon we might be up and about. -
Does Jack Grimes and Jordie McKenzie (for instance) play for their spots? I think Dawes will come in no matter what.
-
Juggling that other teams mainly improve as well with the fact we shoulda won maybe 2 more, I think 5 wins is ok and that 6 or more shows 25% improvement.
-
I honestly envied cat supporters. I went to the G to see Gary Ablett play all the time. Maybe it was just me. But I saw Richmond supporters applaud him when he was stuck on a wing and the Geelong coach obviously had said feed Gavin Excel at FF. He beat 2 teams to kick 14 and it seemed he wasnt showing off just playing as best he could.

Im surprised that an opportunity to see how the players are faring on a weekend near Melbourne is dismissed so readily. I live near Luna Park but "day Outs" there are so much B#lls!t to me. I dont want to shake someones hand, ribe crap rides, just to buy a tshirt. My boys lost interest. Its just me. As an aside, some mates have asked to use Elsternwick Park today for a charity cricket match. They sent one email and it was replied to and all good. There will be about 40 people there. (go down and look if you want to drive right in) When the Rockdogs play it holds at least 10000 people. Its close to a train station, plenty of parking, off Nepean Highway. Piece of P$$. I could have organised the inter club better in 2 lunch times.
