Isaac Smith (Geelong) to retire at the end of this season. I'm hoping that's Round 24.
-
You must have missed his follow-up post (now rightly deleted by a mod) where he was bragging about baiting other Demonland posters. Trolling, in other words.

I thought trolling was against this forum's rules. You're neither as funny nor as clever as you seem to think you are.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Demonstone replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
He's my nomination for the most frequently misspelled recruit of the 2023 draft. -
After long being a traditionalist and a strong supporter of its retention as a unique feature of our game, I've changed my mind on the bounce. I now realise that it's a very difficult feat to perform (a possible disincentive for potential new umpires) and I think there are too many dud bounces needing to be recalled which spoils the flow of play. I doubt that, before too long, we'd even notice it was gone if the umpires simply threw the ball up (just like they do everywhere else on the ground).
-
We can also add Ben Cunnington (North Melbourne) to the list of retirees. Will play his last game this week.
-
Luke Shuey is the latest Eagle to announce his retirement. Teammates to do a group shoey on Mad Monday as a mark of respect? I'll ask again @Demonland ... can this thread be pinned?
-
Cripps played yesterday. Apart from Walsh and Cerra, the other big name missing was Harry McKay.

Do we know which Coach voted for which players?

Now that's just asking for a hangover.

@Diamond_Jim: From the AFL's own website. THE MCG will be the home of the Grand Final until at least 2057 under a mega-deal with the Victorian government expected to be announced on Friday. The agreement with premier Daniel Andrews' Labor government and the AFL is part of a broader sports package that will see $225million in investment in Etihad Stadium and the Docklands precinct.
-
The deal was struck between the AFL and the Victorian State Government. It's not up for grabs. I look forward to 2057 and seeing veteran Melbourne Captain George Gawn holding the cup aloft yet again with ten-time Premiership Coach and AFL Legend Charlie Spargo.
-
Fear not @leave it to deever, the Grand Final is locked in to the MCG until at least 2057 at this stage.

I'd love to see Orlando bloom in Demon colours.

Who would you be prepared to give up Binny, given that "decent" is a subjective term.
-
They all had songs with "call/calling" in the title?
-
Question without notice: (or relevance) Why does Disney cartoon dog Goofy walk on two legs but Disney cartoon dog Pluto walk on four legs?
-
That would be in the starting 22 (as opposed to the injury sub or one of the three emergencies).
-
I recently heard about a new young adult novel in which Schrodinger’s cat and Pavlov’s dog team up together and get into all sorts of whacky adventures. Just the perfect birthday present for my nine year old niece I thought, and so dropped into the local bookshop to buy a copy for her. The owner said my description rang a bell, but he wasn’t sure if it was there or not.

I think this is the third week in a row that Brodie has been named on the extended bench or as an emergency. Can't imagine it's for anything other than cover for Max in case of a last minute injury or such.
-
The eight bench players are named in order of jumper numbers from lowest to highest. You can tie me to an anthill and smear my ears with jam if Petty isn't in the starting 22.

Hawks racism allegations (merged thread)
Demonstone replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not sure the fraud charges against Egan are of any relevance to the contents of the Hawthorn report.
