As much as I'd love it if he turn out to be a good player, alas, that's looking less likely. That's my opinion. Having stated it, I don't intend to keep posting it again and again and again like you do.

So you keep saying, old dee. Ad nauseam. We get it. You don't rate Weideman.

It may be at least 20 years away, but I can't wait until we draft Jacob van Rooyen's offspring under the father-son rule. Bring on JVR JNR!

I won't stand for any cwiticism of Jacob van Wooyen. Yours etc, E. Fudd

So many posters in this thread remind me of the teenager who hears rumours that his girlfriend is going to dump him so starts telling his mates that he doesn't think she's much chop anyway.

I wonder if that's an error and it's meant to read Josh Smith? Josh was named last week and I was fooled into thinking that perhaps Joel had made a miraculous recovery. On the other hand, it does list Joel's #44. The thick plottens.

Fair point!

Nothing to see, except: * Essendon were disqualified from the 2013 finals. * They were fined $2 million * They were stripped of first and second round draft picks in 2013 and 2014 * James Hird was banned from football for 12 months * Danny Corcoran copped a six months ban * Mark Thompson was fined $30,000 * Stephen Dank received a lifetime ban * 34 players received a 12 month ban So, apart from all those things ...

First time I've heard that one. Where and by whom was it reported?

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND: DANIEL TURNER
Demonstone replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've asked the same question a couple of times JD and, if anybody knows, they're not saying. I hope it's got nothing to do with that oyster who went to a disco and pulled a mussel. -
Have we found out yet why he earned the nickname 'Disco'?

You leave Luci alone. She's clearly been burning the midnight oil from both ends. It's best not to judge a book before it's hatched. You can take that to the bank and smoke it.

You'd see it nearly every week if you had a look. For example, Jackson Archer has been listed on the extended bench at North on a few occasions this year without making the final team. He's been named again this week on the extended bench with (new) beside his name.

This is a tweet from 'Age' journalist Peter Ryan today. Anyone heard anything else about this? NB: I'm aware of the massive oxymoron that is "AFL integrity department". The AFL integrity department have decided to take a further look at the May-Melksham incident to ensure there are no surprises beyond what has been established.@agerealfooty

He was recruited from Port Adelaide and is also biased in that direction.

I thought it was an excellent read. MFC received their whack and deservedly so.

Mihocek is a very good player and underestimated by many. He's no Kingsley.

I reckon we've got this week's winner of the Mixed Metaphor Medal.

Melksham would have to be a strong chance. We know he can hit a target.
-
I know it's a parody account, but it would be nice to think that Melksham would fire up when the chips are down.

You're not misremembering. Robbie last wore it 1987 as we all know but it wasn't until 1992 that the number two was worn again by Stephen Tingay (who moved from 52 to 15 to 2). After Stinga finished up in 1999, it wasn't seen again until Steven Armstrong in 2002.

Just on 200 responses now. I wonder if that sample size is large enough to be meaningful. It does confirm my suspicion that we don't have a lot of young (under 30) posters here.

Another fine article about Nathan Jones giving the Norm Smith oration. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/jones-finds-peace-after-grand-final-devastation-20220606-p5argo.html

I'm reliably informed that there will be a big slide.
