  1. They might be on the road to finals, but they'll be taking that "EXIT" soon enough.
  2. Geelong knew what they were doing? All credit to them, then. Other clubs had the same opportunity but didn't take it. As much as I dislike Geelong, you have to give them credit for smart recruiting.
  3. If you're planning on stocking up on footy snacks before going to the game or looking to buy some waterproofs or winter woollies, avoid the supermarket in Collingwood whatever you do. This is what happened to me when I popped in earlier this morning.
  4. That's a tad unfair to Max. He drops back to take saving marks in defence and presents a threat up forward also. Grundy, on the other hand, is more one dimensional. However, if the MFC Football Department think he can add something to our team, I would trust their judgement.
  5. How can Geelong "hide players away"? Any player that nominates for the Draft may be selected by any one of the 18 clubs. It's up to the recruiting staff and scouts to identify which of these players is worthy of being drafted. Blokes like Tom Stewart and Tom Atkins were there for all to see. Geelong decided to draft them.
  6. The Hampden League was allocated to Fitzroy, not Geelong. I was growing up in Portland when zoning was introduced. Imagine my dismay when our league (Western Border) was given to Collingwood! It wasn't a fruitful zone however, with the only decent player from the area being Billy Picken.
  7. I feel more like clubbing the doofus responsible for that aural assault.
  8. No, the post was about picking up Kennedy after he retires. I think we have a crossed line! (is that still a thing?)
  9. You might be thinking of a different Kennedy there, dc. Josh (of West Coast) was born in Melbourne, and grew up in Canberra, Townsville, and Perth, with his family finally settling in Northampton, a small country town north of Geraldton, Western Australia. He was recruited by Carlton from East Fremantle.
  10. I know right? How does that even happen for a team that finished top 4. It is absolute BS. It's because the fixture is partly based on the finishing positions on the ladder. WC were 9th in 2021 and Collingwood ended up 17th. There was no way of telling that WC would implode so spectacularly this season or that Collingwood would surprise us all by performing as well as they have.
  11. It's not so much the frees they receive, but all the ones that aren't paid against them for holding the ball and throwing.
  12. * Garry
  13. That doesn't help! When you say "queue", do you mean "cue"?
  14. Is that a FNQ saying? What does it mean?
  15. Errr ... did you actually read the article? The author explains how they do it.
  16. He has to run around in the shower to get wet.
  17. We've all been expecting an aging Geelong to fall off the cliff for what seems like many years now. In this article, Jake Niall sets out his reasons why they continue to stay at the pointy end of the ladder. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/the-magic-pudding-where-cats-have-edge-on-the-competition-20220730-p5b5wc.html
  18. Nah, I wouldn't take him on. He's too well versed for me.
  19. Are you telling me you dictionaried?
  20. It would appear that you are suffering from premature capitulation.
  21. We beat them in the 1989 Elimination Final.
  22. Given your stated musical preferences, I'm not sure if they would be your cup of tea, PF. This early song of theirs would be a good starting point. If you like it, I'd recommend "Frontier Psychiatrist" as the next stepping stone. Their style could be described as electronic and they make extensive use of samples. In this song, they used something like 3,500 vinyl samples!
  23. Anyway, back to laughing at Carlton ...
  24. Great effort by Jess. She's a champion! This is not having a go at you Redleg, but why do commentators use "medal" as a verb? It's like saying that in the 2021 Grand Final, Melbourne players flagged. Or premiered Or cupped.
