  1. The recruitment of Lachie Hunter makes it more likely that Baker will be delisted IMO.
  2. I get the romantic notion of your suggestion but, seriously, how could a change of number possibly make the slightest bit of difference to a player's form or luck with injuries?
  3. This time last week, some posters were whining about our lack of action on the trading front. It happens every year. There is next to no movement for the first few days then a big rush at the end with deals being made left, right and centre. Moral of the story? Be patient during the trade period and don't expect things to happen early on. As it turns out, we've been one of the more active participants this year.
  4. Poor Schache. He's been a Demon for five minutes and has already assumed the mantle of whipping boy. Let's reserve judgement until we see how he goes next year.
  5. You'd have to be pretty desperate to make a post just for the sake of getting the thread to 300 pages. edit: It was worth a try.
  6. Ah yes, if only Goody knew something about footy, hey?
  7. Terrible deal for Geelong. Henry is not worth anything like that.
  8. A grandfather deal is pa for the course. It's a deal that pops.
  9. Only if you're small minded (not saying you are, SD). Players change clubs. It's a fact of AFL life.
  10. Not knowing whether to feel miserable or annoyed with RyanD's post, I'd call it sadire. (TM)
  11. Has the Hunter become the hunted? I thought we didn't value the Hunt.
  12. Speaking of which and veering wildly off topic, I have a question. Did Don Quixote call his donkey Oatey?
  13. There's another term for all these delisted NQR's that posters are speculating about. It begins with "L" and ends in "istclogger".
  14. I know there are some exceptions, but generally when a player has been let go by two clubs there are good reasons why that is the case. Not sure what the knock on Phillips is but I wouldn't be keen on picking him up based on his history.
  15. If you ask @Rab D Nesbitt, it stands for Indigenous Guernsey.
  16. There's no point trading just for the sake of trading. Ratugolea wouldn't make us any better. It's roughly the mid-point of the trade period. There have only been a few trades finalised at this point and I'd suggest we wait until it's over rather than jumping to hasty conclusions. Let's see what eventuates. The other point I would make is that, just because there has been no publicity, doesn't mean we're not taking "shots" at players we think may be attainable and who would improve our list.
  17. Probably because he's a decidedly average player who wouldn't solve our forward issue.
  18. Dave's not here, (bin) man.
  19. You'd probably have to throw in a family sized meatlovers pizza to clinch the deal.
  20. Tommo was originally a top ten draft selection, which is more fodder for those who think draft picks are over-rated and further evidence that there is no certainty with any player that is drafted at the pointy end.
  21. Gold Coast fans will be salty?
  22. Corbett clearly not rated highly by Gold Coast. A future fourth rounder? That's not even a packet of chips, it's the little crumby bits at the bottom of the bag.
  23. Make sure you don't get the two mixed up. edit: Oh, snap!
