  1. Greg shone bright as one of our best in those dim and dark days. RIP Greg.
  2. My wardrobe has been full of Demons gear for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always worn it with pride …………. and, for the most part, been able to ignore snide comments from non-believers. But it’s different now! For the past 50+ years, the pride has mostly been about myself, and sticking with the red and blue during the ‘hard times’. Now it’s all about the 2021 Demons …… and the new trophy in the cabinet! Bloody Hell, I’m even walking with a ‘Tracc-like’ swagger, which probably looks odd for someone of my vintage! But who gives a stuff!
  3. I doubt that there's any way we could have satisfied Freo's trade demands, or our own salary cap constraints, without compromising our current list (and perhaps aspects of our superb culture). Nice but unrealistic dream!
  4. Gee, after Saturday night I didn't think I had any tears left, but I was wrong! Nev has been an outstanding role model, both on and off the field, and seems loved and valued by everyone. You only have read the article on the Club website to appreciate what a quality person he is, and the high regard with which he is held.. All the very best to him and his family, for the next part of the journey. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1021995/neville-jetta-calls-time-on-career-in-red-and-blue
  5. Outstanding analysis again fellas. Love your work win, lose, draw or Premiership! Thank you!
  6. Congratulations to our TEAM, including Goody and all of our off-field coaches and support staff. It almost feels a bit unfair to separate a top six given the contributions of everyone across what has been a stellar season, but this is my crack at it: 6. Petracca 5. Oliver 4. Salem 3. Fritsch 2. Gawn 1. Brayshaw
  7. Still pinching myself, and brushing away tears this morning.
  8. This thread matches my feelings and emotions perfectly. One minute an air of confidence in the knowledge that at our best, we will win, and win well. The next minute the ‘what if’s’ and lingering doubts kick in, and erase the confidence of only moments earlier. My nerves are like a bowl of spaghetti. I needed a sleeping pill to get me through last night, but if we win tonight, a short doze in my lounge chair will suffice. If we lose, I might need two sleeping pills! Go Dees! We all love you to death, and we know you will be playing for each and every one of us!
  9. What a great idea SWYYL! We already have the Bollinger on ice, and we’ll definitely share a nice Shiraz, but one of those iconic ports would make a perfect night morning-cap.
  10. I loved the interview .... both the reminiscing and looking forward to Saturday night.
  11. I'd have Jason Taylor a fair way ahead of that promo.
  12. ........ and very hard to change a team that won a Prelim by 83 points at its last outing. GO DEES!
  13. "Should auld acquaintance be forgot" ............. thanks for reacquainting Ash!
  14. Outstanding work again folks. Thank you so much, and GO DEES!
  15. Outstanding player, outstanding leader, outstanding person, outstanding representative of our Club! His growth in all of these areas has been exceptional.
  16. Thanks guys. All the right questions to Perty, and the answers I wanted to hear. My confidence is growing, albeit at a slightly slower pace than the nervous tension ....... but I wouldn't want it any other way!
  17. This is perhaps the best MFC related interview I’ve ever heard. Thanks Daz! Make no mistake, PJ’s business prowess, integrity and persistence have been pivotal in getting us to the 2021 GF, and beyond.
  18. I’m an old so and so, who was fortunate enough to live through our Golden Era of the late 1940s, the 1950’s and (obviously) 1964 as well. I have my place adorned with Dees flags, as shown in the ‘Flying the Flag’ thread. I was sitting on my front porch this evening, enjoying a glass of Shiraz, and taking in my attractive garden as the twilight took over. When the evening breeze began to flutter the flags it caught my attention. I spontaneously and unashamedly, burst into tears. That’s what a premiership would mean to me! Cross my heart, that’s a true story.
  19. So TMac will be on a starvation diet then?
  20. Outstanding footballer!
  21. All of us supporters who have stuck by this downtrodden Club through thick (and mostly) thin. We will truly be the 'unsung' heroes. BUT onfield , it's hard to go past Vines and Nibbler.
  22. Gee, I hope it's not the same bug that some Geelong players are reported to have had prior to the Prelim.
  23. I agree Dante, and for this reason I suspect that TMac has played an important part in building the 'culture' that is so important to where we now sit as a team.
