6. Petracca 5. Salem 4. T.Mac 3. Gawn 2. May 1. Oliver Gee that was hard and probably a bit harsh not to give votes to the likes of Petty, Langdon, Pickett, Hunt and Hibbo. Great team football!

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
I saw a team playing premiership type football tonight.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
No predictions from me today, just a fervent hope that we can come out with fire in our bellies from the first bounce, and tidy up our clearance work, forward entries and goal kicking. Achieve these, and a result in our favour will take care of itself ………. if not the result will also take care of itself, BUT ………….

PODCAST: Rd 16 vs GWS LIVE 6/7 @ 8:30pm
Great discussion as usual guys. Thanks. MFCSS has been creeping up on me over the last few rounds, but listening to George and Bin last night has kept it at bay for at least another week.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
It's a four quarter game. Where was the intensity in the first three quarters?
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs GWS
Both teams are talented, but with the exception of Toby Green, they are mentally fragile when the heat is turned up. Our toughness around the contest, will to win, commitment to team defence and superior fitness will see us across the line by 4 to 5 goals, after a ‘slog feast’ for the first three quarters. Another one of those games where we seem to hold the upper hand for most of the day, but don’t break away until the last quarter.

CASEY DEMONS: Rd 12 vs UWS Giants
I hope you are correct Jack, because this these fixtures are not only compromising Casey, but also the Melbourne Demons.

10 years ago today…
Sean had many 'points of difference', but his courage was the standout for me. A very special player, and to think he didn't grow up with our game, makes his contribution even more meritorious.

CASEY DEMONS: Rd 11 vs Essendon
Correct daisy. This from the Casey website: "Make sure that you get in early if, you'd like to come and watch the boys play Sunday, as we only have a limit of 1000 spectators due to COVID restrictions."

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs Essendon
Given results so far this round, this is a huge opportunity for the Dees to consolidate a top 4 finish. On the other hand, the Bombers will now have September action in their sights, and I expect them to come out firing. Bottom line: our experience, structures and fitness should hold sway, and lead to a comfortable win, so long as we don’t suffer from some sort of ‘post bye malaise’. Dees by 5 goals I reckon (much to my joy!).

Woops! Thanks KC.

CASEY DEMONS: Rd 11 vs Essendon
You’d expect at least two of BBB, Chandler, Jetta and Jones will come out as med. sub and emergency for our AFL team. Jones and Jetta perhaps (?) given the absence of VFL over the last month.

Gary Pert Mid-Season Update
Brilliant! We are picking ourselves up from the doldrums, and momentum is building steadily on a number of key fronts. Soon we will be the envy of many other clubs, including several whose mantle we are well placed to steal. Go Dees!

GAMEDAY: Rd 13 v Collingwood
By any logical measure of ability, experience, game-plan, form or class, the Dees win this by 8+ goals. Then enter the unknown impact of the Buckley factor to complicate the equation. I’m sticking with the the tangibles over the intangibles, and predicting a comfortable win to the Dees, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a smidge concerned about the alternative. MFCSS is alive and well in the DOF household this morning.
