  1. Exactly!
  2. Agree. Wheels is a long time favourite of mine (probably most of us tbh), but the years and injury are taking their toll.
  3. 6 - Bate. Good game. Very few mates today. 5 - Jones. Worked as hard as ever, and turned it over less today. 4 - McDonald. Typical Junior (including 'average' disposal). 3 - Sylvia. Flashed in and out, but did a few nice things. 2 - McNamara. Made some defensive errors (inexperience) but generally sound debut, with impressive ball use. If he can build on that effort over the next few weeks, he's probably a 'keeper'. 1 - Petterd. Worked hard, but prefer up forward.
  4. Many thanks for the great summary D26, you certainly captured a lot of the emotion! I love our footy club, and will be digging as deep as I can.
  5. You've been spot-on with all of your comments about Liam so far RudeBoy, so I'm certainly not going to start doubting you now!! It been a very long time since we've had a true champion of the game playing the Melbourne Football Club, but I am starting to get my hopes up about the emergence of another one.
  6. So clean by hand and foot, and he seems to do it all so instinctively ...... and always for the team. I can't remember one selfish bit of play, or rush of blood where he didn't look for and select the best option.
  7. Top post Einstein. I'm glad you didn't spend time attempting to argue one side or the other, because I reckon you've summed up perfectly where many of us sit on this issue.
  8. 6 - Moloney (clearly) 5 - Grimes 4 - Bate 3 - Bartram 2 - Jurrah 1 - Morton
  9. Thanks WJ. That is a fantastic summary of what was obviously a great, and very moving evening. I love the Melbourne Football Club and what it is doing!!
  10. Well done Liam. Doing yourself, the Warlpiri people and the Melbourne Footy Club proud!!
  11. Agree, yesterday was his best game for MFC IMO. Obviously needs to work on his kicking but otherwise is developing nicely.
  12. 6 - Bruce 5 - Jurrah 4 - Moloney 3 - Rivers 2 - Petterd 1 - Jamar
  13. The best words you have ever written YM. Congratulations!
  14. Yep. It's time for Dunny to get another chance (possibly his last?) to prove himself at this level, after several strong performances with Casey.
  15. Keep up the good work Jim. We will be 110% with you all the way!
  16. I reckon your list is pretty close 'bub, but like a few others I wouldn't mind Buckley being given a bit more opportunity .... perhaps later this season, although that would be tough on him given that he's missed so much footy. I also reckon that Newton should see out his contract ... obviously the FD saw something in him 12 months ago, and while he hasn't set the world (or even the VFL) on fire, he has developed aspects of his game that we havn't seen before. Still a long way to go for Juice though! One player who isn't on your list, but whose name has been bandied around a bit in this context is Tom McNamara. He's a good size, young, and from all accounts shows lots of potential. He's had a wretched run with injury, but I certainly hope they persevere with him.
  17. Great stuff. Over the long haul, it wouldn't surprise me if Grimesy turns out to be seen by the football public as the pick of his draft year, which includes the likes of Kruezer and Cotchin. Well done Jack!
  18. Definitely. No exceptions!
  19. .... in fact he has done it in all three of his games this year.
  20. A fact that is hard to dispute.
  21. 6 - Bruce 5 - Grimes 4 - Jamar 3 - McLean 2 - Moloney 1 - Warnock ............. and lots of honourable mentions!
  22. You are too easily swayed hbt! A win for Jimma, team morale and us long-suffering supporters, PLEASE!
  23. Spot on NJ!!
  24. ..... and not long ago the Geelong boards contained ill-informed dung like this in relation to Thompson's coaching ability, and more recently, Hawthorn's in relation to Clarko, and even more recently, StKilda's in relation to Lyon. Remember??
