  1. 1. I do, but if we continue to play with the endeavour and spirit that we have shown for most of this year, and our kids continue to improve, then the losses won't be so hard to handle. 2. Totally agree, but it won't happen!
  2. Truely inspirational. Well done Barts!
  3. Spot-on 3165!!
  4. Agree strongly. She's one of the top bracket of AFL journos IMO.
  5. Unfortunately will not be shown in the ACT, and perhaps nowhere outside Vic. Would therefore love some feedback on how Jack and the other Demon listed players perform. Thanks in anticipation!!
  6. Couldn't agree more! Many thanks Jack and Jacko.
  7. EXACTLY! .... as well as conservative player management (ie. post injury and not pushing the youngsters too hard).
  8. I think I've seen enough of Martin, and probably Bennell, to say they are knocking on the door, if not already on this list.
  9. My sentiments exactly. Pathetic decision and Riv won't be appealing because he would risk suspension if appeal not upheld,
  10. Absolutely! Those stats are crap.
  11. QUOTE (CHAMP @ Apr 27 2009, 07:44 AM) The best thing about him is that he has the gift of being able to find space. Its a gift often provided by opposition defenders. A greater gift to have is the ability to win the contested ball. Quote I like that!
  12. No need to apologise Suzanna, I can't get excited about it either, and I've lived here for almost 40 years (and I still get my annual bout of homesickness for Melbourne every March to September)
  13. Thanks Vanlo. Was in the process of editing when you beat me to it. Now corrected.
  14. Watts NOT selected according to team list: B Bennell Silvagni Cheney HB Stockdale Wall Faulks C Panozza Valenti Grimes HF Maric Hughes Bell F Liddle Robertson Moore R Spencer Dunn Matthews Int P Johnson Mohr Woneamirri Moloney McGough Zomer Bail Matheson Patti McKenzie Vernon McNamara Named in Casey 2s squad.
  15. Not this old fart S_T! I was around in the 50's and 60's and our success way back then just makes my desire to taste it again even stronger. Bring on #13!!
  16. I must admit to thinking that Jonesey's career might have plateaued for good in '08. Never doubted his hardness or commitment, but thought he was a bit one dimensional with average skills and limited awareness (sort of an up-market Godders?). We are only four games into '09, but his efforts so far have started me revising my thinking. Keep up the good work Jonesey!
  17. Great analogy with Jimma, even better if he can (eventually) soar to those heights.
  18. Another enjoyable and informative read WJ. Many thanks from Canberra.
  19. Agree ...... and full marks to our footy Dept. for seeing the signs while ago, and not writing him off. Still a very long way to go, but I'm sure most of us here would be only too happy to end up with egg on our faces in relation to our assessment of his potential?
  20. Excellent point. Too early (and probably unfair) to speculate here, but a thought provoking hypothetical would be .......... if the season ended now, who would be the 5 or 6 to make way??
  21. Bugger!
  22. Many thanks Jack for another insightful and balanced piece. Being an 'interstater' and therefore unable to get to many games (and form my own opinions), I have grown to really value your views.
  23. In Cairns as well!!
  24. Or possibly Tom McNamara? I have heard no mention of him for the whole pre-season. Does anyone know the nature of his injury?
  25. I like that.
