"We're a contested ball team". Repeat Ad Nauseum.
-
by 'ready to roll out' I presume he meant the test had been through independent approval process required to determine how reliable it is?
-
Its no surprise that Brayshaw's best game coincided with Viney out allowing him to play as a centre square mid. He was better but his kicking was still unreliable. If Viney's return means he is back to a utility role does he have attributes to excell in that role?
-
We do bat pretty deep in players who turn the ball over....
-
Hannan and Rivers out and Jones stays in. Well we are a contested ball club after all. Jones is a giant of this club for his resilience and loyalty through dark dark years. But in 2020 he does not have attributes to play half back or wing. Rivers is very promising and displays great attributes for a hbf. Strong overhead, reads play well and intercepts, uses running capacity to chase and tackle and set up play. Hannan will be on the radar of other clubs after being dropped again. Some coaches value his combination of running power, marking and linking high half forward role more than others. I'd have Hannan and Rivers in for Jones and Hibberd. Hope I'm wrong and we don't get outrun by Pies.

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

How are you at operating a computer on draft night! -
We have to protect the head and the spine. Nibbler needs to be suspended. Yes. The AFL is inconsistent.
-
There was a play on the wing when Hibberd took possession and hedged in on boundary line he kicked long along the line to no one in particular. His other option was to hand ball backwards to a teammate in space with time and space to be more constructive. Sigh.
-
but could he play whatever ahem role Brayshaw is currently not playing very well?
-
We are a rabble. Can't see any logic in Goodwin continuing. Into his fourth season there is no evidence that he can imprint a method on his players that wins games and stands up under pressure.
-
Jones deserves enormous respect from all Dees fans for his resilience during some really awful years. I can't see a role for him in our best 22 in 2020. He is a centre mid or he is not in the team. He would have been more highly regarded as a contested ball mid who could drift forward to kick a goal from the 50 if he'd played in better teams in his prime.
-
North just looking far more speedy and skillful in first quarter. Did look like they were kicking to scoring end so hopefully its a better 2nd quarter. Casey Fields really does needs some more stands and sun protection to improve standard of play and make it more comfortable for spectators.

Caaaaaaar'n Dees!
-
Suspect by back end of deal it''ll be a declining chunk of cap.
-
There is risk for the Pies if Grundy suffers a serious injury or becomes injury prone. Advantage for Pies is that if he does avoid injury they will likely be paying Grundy less dollars than his market value in back years of contract if salary cap keeps increasing. Grundy gets security but sacrifices maxxing contract value in back end years of contract.

Interesting to see how they handle the intermittent smoke haze. Can't be healthy for players to be training in it. Both Brumbies and Raiders have moved their pre season out of Canberra until it stops being enveloped in smoke.

Good for the game.

He is very cheap depth.

Birdman are definitely in the discussion! Also in discussion for best live band. -
I quite like Maher and Murphy combo but I'm only a very occasional SEN listener ie trade week. SEN has invested heavily in Lyon and Watson, Whately and now Russell. Its yet to be seen if that investment will generate ratings boost that allows a commercial return on that investment. The AFL/NRL divide makes national sports radio/tv shows more of a challenge than in more homogeneous sporting markets ie US. Be interesting to see what ratings SEN generate outside of Victoria and how they monetise that with national advertisers or insert local.

With so many teams having f/s or academy players mooted to be Top 30 in 2020 draft I reckon this Freo pick will be part of a trade to a points hunting team.

I think its a quasi registration process to cover insurance and payment.
