I think though, if we have enough guys around the ball putting the pressure on there is a good chance we'll get the turnover right back. We did that particularly well vs the Bulldogs where we had our share of turnovers but were almost immediately all over the Bulldogs players receiving the ball and most of the time got it back pretty quickly. Last week that manic pressure was missing, making the errors from the likes of Frost much more costly. They've said bringing that manic pressure back has been a focus this week, plus we've obviously had a few guns come back, so maybe the errors won't turn out to be so catostrophic if and when they occur?

We'd all love that, but that'd be an almost career best performance if he managed it... 2010: Games: 18, Disposals: 343 (ave 19), Goals: 8 (ave 0.4) Most disposals in game: 26 v Bulldogs Most goals in a game: 2 v Brisbane & Bombers Best disposals/goals game v Brisbane (24/2) 2011: Games: 19, Disposals: 387 (ave 20.4), Goals: 13 (ave 0.7) Most disposals in game: 29 v Gold Coast Most goals in a game: 3 v Richmond Best disposals/goals game v Gold Coast (29/2) 2012: Games: 22, Disposals: 389 (ave 17.7), Goals: 8 (ave 0.4) Most disposals in game: 23 v GWS Most goals in a game: 2 v Richmond & GWS Best disposals/goals game v GWS (23/2) 2013: Games: 20, Disposals: 357 (ave 17.9), Goals: 9 (ave 0.4) Most disposals in game: 27 v Fremantle Most goals in a game: 2 v West Coast, Fremantle & Collingwood Best disposals/goals game v Fremantle (20/2) Lots more stats here: http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/J/Jack_Trengove.html

Yep. Played rounds 1 & 2 in 2014, then missed rest of season. Missed entire 2015 Played rounds 11, 12 & 13 last year, with final match being that horrible wet game vs Sydney in Sydney, the week after QB

Yep... me too :-/ I cant remember leaving a Matthew Nicholls game happy that it has been officiated well. Even for neutral games not involving our lot. The most consistently inconsistent umpire going around.

Umpires for the match, have seen me de-barr a little... 1. Chris Donlon 15. Matthew Nicholls 21. Simon Meredith Ugh! Two of my least favourite three

Massive effort by Viney to get back in half the time. Maybe he got a hold of some of Mr Miyagi's magic green powder?
-
That's interesting. Was there a reason given? Just seems a bit odd to enforce a "closed session" of sorts while training an open field in the middle of an open area.

As an aside, isn't it nice to be well into July and still be firmly focused on the season ahead. Usually by now, our season is over and the board is dominated with threads on who to delist, who to trade for, who we can get with our picks... etc

Another thing... When it is clear the MRP are mindless buffoons who make decisions on the fly in line with the current media ageda, why the **** is so much commentary allowed before the MRP makes it decision, effectively throwing the player under the bus? If commentary about a current case in the court of law is avoided so as not to influence the jury, then why are the media let loose like rabid dogs to effectively protect and condemn as they see fit?

So Vince gets two seperate penalties for two offences. Suspension and a fine. Whereas Dusty who is already sitting on one fine, get a single fine for the two offences, cause giving him separate fines = 3 for season = suspension.

Why? It was a perfectly valid question. He could have been in severe pain, or he could have been a bit upset having found out he may have another season ending injury. Whats the problem?

Six day breaks I can cop, everyone has to have them. It is just the scheduling of them that seems a bit ridiculous. Why do we have three on the trot, as per a couple of weeks back? Why do we have one immediately after a Perth game and now another straight after Darwin? Edit - actually, Darwin is 7... still, rage remains!! Agh

I tried out that ladder predictor thing on the AFL website. Went as conservative as possible and gave us wins vs North, St Kilda, Brisbane & Collingwood and losses to the Crows, Port & GWS. All other results have a bearing too, and my predictions for those are obviously subjective, but I still had us finishing 5th - 6th. The top eight stayed more or less the same other than the Bombers coming up, and Richmond dropping out (finishing 9th - LOL!!)

Their bye is this weekend, so I guess if that is read to be true he could be back for the game v Essendon on 22/07 ? This bit though... “Gus is essentially training with the main group [and having] full contact. We’re hoping that he’s a chance for the VFL game after their bye this weekend. It really comes down to Gus and how he’s feeling about his footy, but all things are pointing to a positive outcome" ... to me says the problem is more with Brayshaws mental state than anything. If he still has the confidence to get in there and stick his head over the ball again.. etc ?

Yep, though this fella in one of those guys who seems to feel the free kick count should be 30-0 his sides way each week, so I lost interest arguing the point. Anyways... how about little Nev! Legend!

... which I have been having a running arguement about with some Blues [censored] at work for 2 days now. Will not accept that the contest with Simpson at the end was fair, or the "illegal interference" on Thomas in the play just before that. I just laugh at him, as I did when he claimed we were gifted 5 umpire goals from directly in front while they had none... Delusional to the point where I dont even bother trying to argue anymore. Just nod and smile

Not everything he tried came off, but Kent was all over the place last night and very much "sighted"...

You can see at the very end after ANB took the mark that Lewis started talking to him almost straight away, telling him what to do. ANB then went from watching the clock to looking out the corner of his eye to make sure Lewis was still in space. The percentage move for Demons of old would be to go for the goal. Obvious risk is that if they missed, they then give the opposition 30 seconds to get up the other end for a goal. Percentage move now is what Lewis orchestrated last night. Remove all doubt, and guarantee victory. Thats experience, and you can't teach that. #lewisfan

Oh yay, another weekend speculating about what the MRP may or may not too. Would we even be talking about this and the perceived "viciousness" if we weren't playing them next week?
-
Rather than being direct replacements, Kent/Smith frees up some others in the side to spend more time in the middle So the Lewis/Vince/Hunt/ANB/Harmes types Edit.... beaten, by 9 mins! :-/

Can't wait to see Jesse back out there. His first touch / mark / goal are going to be awesome! I must say though, while I am glad the spotlight is not on him as it's the last thing he needs, I was a little miffed on last nights various football shows (League Teams, 360, The Footy Show), that his return, and the significance of it barely got a mention. Certainly no more than any other player from any other team listed as an "in" for this week. We all saw the fanfare when Roughhead came back, and rightly so, I was just expecting the return of Jesse to be made a bit more of a big deal. :-S
