  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but... First win vs Eagles in 8 years First time that we've won 4 in a row in 11 years First win in Perth in 13 years First win vs Eagles in Perth in 15 years
  2. Until I saw the stat, I didn't realise we have lost 9 of the past 10 vs the Blues....
  3. Congrats! Must feel good
  4. Fair to say it's been quite a dramatic game 7!
  5. Isn't Fyfe an unrestricted free agent? Or did I hear wrong on SEN this monring?
  6. Really channel 10 ?? *facepalm*
  7. Said during the commentary that it was our first time past 150 points since round 6, 2004
  8. While I don't disagree at all, I am always conscious of the fact that not that long ago I/we were thinking the same thing about McLean, Sylvia, Moloney, Gysberts, Tapscott, Strauss, Morton... etc *shudders* Proof will be in the 5+ years from now pudding.
  9. On the same note, if and when he does re-sign and bucks the trend of "putting talks on hold = gone", then to the casual observer (idiot), it will make us look good.
  10. I managed to get it up and read in full somehow. Cant now... :/ Story was mainly about Frost moving forward, but there was a couple of paragraphs at the end that said what Redleg mentioned earlier. Quotes I remember... - Hogan and his manager in preliminary discussions - Would be looking at $700,000+ per season which would make him one of highest paid players for his age in the game.
  11. It's here: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-turns-to-sam-frost-to-play-forward-and-help-demons-star-jesse-hogan/news-story/998426f78497788bc388303f7e2284af
  12. Admittedly I know nothing of him, but this is my (possibly unfounded?) concern too. He looks a bit.... well, vanilla, if that is the right term? Maybe just MFCSS, but can't help but worry he might be the Toumpas in the Wines/Toumpas scenario...
  13. Never understand this statement, because all the academy kids are going to be taken regardless. Best available player at 25 will be the same best available player at 30 after academy selections.
  14. 2 x hips Appendicitis Lack of confidence He's never really had a full run at it, 100% and full of confidence. I'd be sad to see him go, knowing he can be so much better.

  16. Apologies if already mentioned elsewhere, but this reminded me of a couple of other things I saw at the game... 1. St Kilda defender spoils over the sideline and gives Jesse a little shove as he is running off. Jesse stopped dead, and gives the guy a "please tell me you did not just touch me?!" death stare! 2. Jesse crashes a pack after which a St Kilda guy stayed down hurt. As he is lying prone on the ground, the Hulkster runs over and gives him a good shove in the back, just to let him know about it! Love him!
  17. I saw someone post elsewhere (most likely here) that Jonathan Brown was exactly the same early on, struggling with the 45+ metre kicks. Sure as it was with Brown that Jesse will be slamming them through from 50+ in no time.
  18. Video is about a year old, but thought it deserved a repost for those that may have missed it... http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2014-06-25/demon-chef-episode-1 Skip to 1:15 Hogan at around the 1:30 mark...
  19. I dont know how else to describe it, but to me McDonald seems to have these "zone out" moments when he is running with the ball in hand. Obvious handball and kicking options are available for for whatever he misses them and just runs at half pace directly towards an opponent. He doesn't even seem to be aware of the opponent until he is being tacked by him. Sometimes I wonder if he is actually awake.
