  1. OLED & QLED are totally different. I don't do technical speak too well I am afraid, so have a read, if interested: http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinion/what-is-qled-the-future-of-tv-tech-explained-2945941
  2. In other news.... I am at my wits end with <popular consumer electronics company>. Bought a new bells & whistles TV back in November, which was great for a few weeks before it had to be replaced. It's replacement lasted a few months before having to be replaced and the one after that, yep you guessed it, had to be replaced - 30 minutes after it came out of the box! Telly #4 is being delivered at some time today. Hopefully within the next 3 hours so I don't miss the game.
  3. As they say, a team of champions doesn't necessarily make a champion team, and we have seen in recent weeks how disjointed and unorganised they look sometimes and they'll probably be even worse now with most of their forward line out. If we bring our Adelaide/Bulldogs style game, then we'll be well on the way.
  4. Incorrect! Playing Howe in defence has been a masterstroke by Buckley, not Roos, and he has finally blossomed now that Collingwood have helped him find his best position. Well, according to the media flogs, anyway....
  5. Geelong guy tackled and does 720 degree spin before getting rid of it. Nicholls - nothing to see here
  6. I admire your positive outlook, for now, but it was only a few days that you were raging hard, labelling the players cowards and saying it was another false dawn. Must be tough being you during the season. You seem to create your own roller coasters to go along with what the team dishes up!
  7. Who are the actual, genuine gorillas? Tex Walker, Ben Brown, Lynch, Patton maybe.... any more? Do we really need a player to specifically try and counter three or four players in the league, or should we get someone that would be better for the other 20 or so games of the season? And maybe just try and develop a better way of playing against the gorilla types with what we have, on the few occasions we face them? We had no ruckman of note for a big chunk of this season, and as it turned out it wasn't the end of the world. We found a way.
  8. I like ANB and he was 'rated' by plenty on here prior to the game last week. "He has turned the corner", "become an important player", "always makes good decisions"...... Nek minnit...
  9. Yes it is, though him playing and helping Geelong beat Sydney would probably have been handy for us in terms of ladder spots. Cant have it both ways though I suppose!
  10. Been listening to KB*** on SEN this morning re the Dangerfield issue and it has been driving me nuts. He and some of the morons calling in are not happy with the Dangerfield suspension and are now pushing for the tackler of all players who hit their head and get concussed to be rubbed out. Also ranting about inconsistency for tackles where players are concussed, using Kents tackle on Sloane and Burgoynes tackle on Reid last year as glaring examples of double standards because Kent/Burgoyne were not suspended. Spot the difference KB/SEN callers, you flogs... Kent DID NOT pin Sloanes arms Burgoyne DID NOT pin Reids arms Dangerfield PINNED Kruezers arms Once the tackler pins the arms of a player and takes away their ability to stop their head hitting the ground, all onus is on the tackler. Seems pretty simple to me. *** no need to say it.
  11. 1. from a purely financial point of view, we play interstate teams because those are the ones we pull low crowds for at home. Would you rather: - Port at the MCG (<30,000 crowd, which is ~ break even) - Tigers in Darwin (get our $500,000 or whatever it is for NT games) Or: - Port in Darwin (get our $500,000 or whatever it is for NT games) Tigers at MCG (>50,000 crowd, so healthy profit) 2. I hate Friday night games, cause if we play crap and lose it wrecks the entire weekend and I have no interest in any of the other games. When we play Sunday, the hope is there all weekend. 3. Agreed All that said, the back to back to back 6 days breaks has been the issue this season. We've been treading water since then
  12. Guess I was watching a different game, as didn't think JKH was too bad yesterday. There were certainly plenty worse
  13. I hate whinging about umpiring, as if we were good enough it shouldn't come down to that, but FMD what a disgrace! How many times did they drop the ball cold when we had them pinned in their forward 50? How many soft in the back calls were paid, especially for Swallow when he gets tacked and then just flops forward, dragging the tackler with him? Etc etc e ****ing tc
  14. I may be recalling this completely incorrectly, but didn't PJ say at the last couple of AGM's that this is what we are doing?
  15. In terms of personnel for tomorrow vs what we had in round 9 (I know some find this irrelevant but I like the comparison), we have changed a lot... OUT: Weideman, Pedersen, Jones, Vince, Wagner, Kent, & Bugg IN: Hogan, Gawn, ANB, Harmes, Melksham, Trengove & JKH Also the rampaging TMac is now up forward.
  16. North almost always get the jump on us in the first quarter. 2015 they kicked 7.4 to our 2.0 in the first, and went on to win by 35 2016 they kicked 8.2 to our 2.2, and went on to win by 5 Round 9 this year they kicked 6.7 (could have been a LOT worse) to our 2.5, and went on to win by 14 Stating the bleeding obvious here, but if we can stick with them in the opening quarter tomorrow, we are well on the way.
  17. Reiwoldt & Prestia both sidelined for Tigers this week while Gold Coast get Ablett & May back. GC a sneaky chance? Definitely would help our push up the ladder if we can get over Norf and gain a couple of %
  18. Not sure if serious... I hope you are stirring 'cause I already have enough people on my 'propensity to make stuff up/misinterpret/embellish' list
  19. I realise that. Just trying to dumb it down to a simple what we gave up vs what we got back. We gave Picks 2, 20 and 72 and got back Tyson, 9 (Salem) and 53 (Hunt) We gave Pick 23 (used by GWS to get McKenna) and got back Frost, 40 (ANB) and 53 (OMac) We then got McKenna back a couple of years later for basically nothing, which means we in effect got Frost, ANB, OMac for free.
