  5. The Melbourne Football Club is pleased to announce that it has entered into a significant new partnership with AFL approved sports betting provider, Betezy. This partnership will initially take the form of a one year deal. Betezy is a newcomer to the AFL landscape. Licenced by the Northern Territory Government to accept bets via telephone and the internet on racing, sports and entertainment, the group was one of a number of sports betting providers approved by the AFL on 1 January 2009. One of the main features of the partnership will be the provision of a strong signage presence at the MCG, as well as a dedicated website and online promotion and involvement at assorted Club events throughout the year. Melbourne Football Club CEO, Cameron Schwab, said “We are very pleased to partner with Betezy in what is an exciting time for our respective organisations and look forward to working together throughout this year and hopefully beyond” The news of Betezy joining with Melbourne Football Club as a new commercial partner follows last week’s announcement of international internet security firm Kaspersky, signing on with the Club for the next three years, alongside Hankook Tyres as Joint Major Partner. New deals in recent weeks have also been finalised with telecommunications firm Red Mercury, pet goods retailer Pets Paradise, IT hardware and solutions provider Leading Solutions and printing and copier firm Konica Minolta. This brings the total sponsorship revenue generated by the Club since the new board took over to above $6.5m How good is this? The last line particularly encouraging.
  6. Kaspersky Lab has signed a three year, multi-million dollar sponsorship with the Melbourne Football Club. In a nod to the company’s global leading role as an IT protector, I like it alot!
  7. Can confirm a major sponsorship announcement at 11am today. The thing that is interesting is that the press release says join our defensive line up to announce it. Not sure if there is anything in that. Anyway, it's great news, the club can now just focus on round 1 so can the supporters. Bring on the Roos!
  8. Spealt correctly mate. I am a Kyabram Boy!
  9. Dude.. i see your glass is half empty.. alot different to most supporters glasses that are half full. Let me top it up for you. Seriously man, nothing wrong with your opinions, but the constant negative grandstanding is getting old. Embrace where we are at, and like the rest of the best supporters in the land (Demons..) get on board!
  10. It is really good news what ever the sponsor. I've said it before, but there is a nice feel around teh club at the moment, and with Garry, Robbie and Braass on board as patrons it is even better.
  11. lets not hang teh dude just yet.. lets give him the benefit of a few games in the real season before we judge so harshly!
  12. Visy park - Saturday 1pm v Swans.
  13. quick breakdown of the weekend. Good: spencer / Mclean / Grimes / backline Bad: Newton - where is his urgency / last quater (obvious) I was shattered we lost, what a great phillup for the club to play the Blues at TD next week, but we will learn from it. I reckon it could be worse.. we could be NOrth or Sydney - they were very very ordinary!
  14. Sounds crazy - but better than a big empty space. What d'you reckon?
  15. I do get it mate. 100% but i just reeckon your being really negative. I reckon we can all do without negative vibes in this day and age.
  16. Dude, you are carrying on a bit, what difference does it make to you.. Good on anyone for having a go, and you know what, if you look around, everyone copies something in industry, it's called competition, ever notice when you see a McDonalds, there is always another fast food outlet close by.. Good on you Dee tention, hope it goes well mate.
  17. Do it! Its got alot of merit, and could really work well. Best idea i have heard sponsorship wise yet.
  18. Yeah, thats very true, it was a really good first year, but still alot to learn. beware the second year blues!!
  19. agreed and of course they are not robots, but i think it is fair to say that some players lack natural football instincts, i mean we have a players in our side who in my opinion are not natural instintive football types. i think Wonna is, and instincts can mean the difference between his type (crumbing forward) making a difference in a game. His natural instincts in a game may very well means he leads to a spot where the ball does not end up, that he handballs to the wrong spot, that he ends up out of the play when he does not have the ball, but his instincts usually net him goals or our team goals, and that is very hard to coach against!
  20. They do. But often there were times when Wonna was found on his well clear in the forward line which often reflects that his direct opponent has exploited his lack of stamina and run off him in the effort to provide a forward attack from defence. No Doubt, but as a forward, the most important weapon is instinct, and wonna has it in spades. Opposition can combat many things, fitness, stratergy, form, but they can never plan for natural instinct.
  21. Lets just give him some time to settle in hey..
  22. All this speculation and here say counts for very little. The only thing we can all say with 100% conviction is that we might struggle to get one. The longer it goes without an announcement, the bigger the worry!
