  1. Yeah, i would have thought Davey was the most important. Blind Freddie would know that, but apparently not "Matty". i
  2. On SEN this morning Matthew Lloyd was on talking about the most important players in each side that the club could ill afford to not be playing. For Melbourne he said Scully & Trengove. I for one find this insulting, ignorant and lazy. I know they are important for the club going forward, but honestly, that is laughable. If that is what he is going to serve up all year, then he will be rubbish.
  3. Lyon was 1989-90 All Australian CHB. Started his career as HFF, then moved back for at least 3 years, represented Victoria as a CHB on numerous occasions. Could well be argued that his career took of as a backman. Was swung everywhere in his early years, especially under Northey, any hole that need filling, Lyon was the man, hence me calling him a swing man, because he certailny was.
  4. Lyon is a 2 time All Australian CHB.. he was a gun Back early. He was the ultimate swing man, could play anywhere. Even got brownlow votes playing in the centre one match against Essendon.
  5. I may have mentioned that a one year extension was on the cards late last footy season, i had spoken to someone who said it could be as early as the day after i was told which obviously didnt happen, but it will happen as it has now been made public. I reckon a year is good deal, bailey has done what he had to do, sacrafice his win loss % for the betterment of the club, and i expect that he would have taken on the job with this as very real prospect. I dont think it is out of the question that he was appointed purely as a intereim coach, someone to dig in, make tough choices with the threat of a short lived contract hanging over his head. And another year is probably on the money.
  6. Yep, the ultimate wish is for Jimmy to be well for 2010, and the demons to rise up the ladder, that is win win for us all. Most improved - Steph Martin Star - Jack grimes merry xmas, happy new year and go demons!
  7. I am a goulburn valley boy, and the Shepp swans are starting to develop a very big line up of stars. The yze boys, Robbo andd Saad will mean they are going to be a pretty decent outfit. Not a great club though, drama's all over the place, hopefully they get it right, will be good for the competition.
  8. Not sure thats totally fair to be honest. he has had a very good professional career, he is another positive off field addition.
  9. whispers suggest his infection is courtesy of some footy trip shenanigans, all harmless stuff though!
  10. yeah, and i love him for his loyalty and he is a one club man now for the rest of his life. Who knew he would do his achillies!
  11. Surely people are entitled to their opinion on demonland, even if it is at the expense of someone's favourite player..
  12. Nice to see another former demon back involved in an off field role. Peter Maynard back at the club as GM of commercial operations. A good man and a good operator. I beleive we have gone passed Hawthorn as the family club. More positivity for the club!
  13. i agree, just posing the question, but it was poor timing, and left a sour taste in teh mouth of many supporters.
  14. Was the mark in the square and the subsequent stupid attempt at goal (against the crows...?) the nail in the coffin for Robbo?
  15. one of my fav's of all time, and the game just got in front of him a bit and he couldnt peg it back. Achillies injuries are for life, not just for xmas, and he did well coming back, but in the end, his time was up. Strong talk of him playing up at Shepparton swans with ooze, would be worth watching!
  16. Thats pretty ordinary, while not anything to tear up your membership over which a couple of you have said they will not which is great, it is a pretty simple thing to keep the members up to date. Fair reply from the club though, all you can ask of anyone is to admit they made a mistake.
  17. If you don't like the original format, you wouldn't have tuned in. wrong.. i didnt like the original format, long and boring, couldnt care less what other clubs got.. i tuned in because it was basically going to be a highlights package of the live event.. and i liked it.. thats just me though.. each to their own. Anyway, what a great night for the demons, and i had a mate who went and he said the best thing about the night was how well the club was represented, the only players from any club were the demons.. about 14 of them there watching and ready to give support. Love this club!
  18. no not all, no vested interest in it one bit. But i am not that narrow minded to suggest that everyone loves the draft like the tragic footballing supporters, some like different formats. get over it!
  19. I think everyone is missing the point. The draft is the hardest thing to televise in the footballing calander. no one wants to watch name getting read out after name.. long winded and boring. i think they mixed it up and the telecast was for those who did not want to listen to the whole draft. got regular updates, great info from Shifter and got out and spoke with family and coaches. For everyone here who did not like it, there will be plenty who thought it was done well. And i am one of them.
  20. Chris Gayle goes home... cricket just got worse!
  21. were they having a kick on the plane?
  22. Yep, i will put my hand up and say that early doors i thought he was a bit of a tool, and just a dumb footballer who just kicks it long at every chance. I am now a full member of the Moloney fan club, love his spirit, his stick up for his teammates attitude and he is getting smarter with his footy. I see him as the Todd viney / Powell that we have missed for a while now... Not sure why some people feel there is a need to constantly question everything that people post on this site, but i'm with you 100% Monde, red and blue blood in his veins..
  23. Pulp Fiction - One of the great lines from one of the great movies.
  24. Agree Pello. As aclub, the NAB cup is very important, gain early momentum and some winning confidence going into R! of teh big stuff. I hope we get a fair crack at it!
  25. Yep, North Melbourne in R22.. hope that does not offend anyone here!
