  1. And Nathan Jones is on Talking Footy tonight. 7.30pm on 7 mate if you are looking for something to watch.
  2. Hi all, Just a couple of things. Reckon Dunn has become very valuable, and dare i say it, a player i trust now.. think he has been terrific and probably in our top 3 most consistent players this year. Also beleive he is set to re-sign in coming days / week.
  3. Interesting side note will be the side of Frawley this week. Great record v Reiwoldt.. Will they shift him back or tommy Mc get the job?
  4. I agree that its probably time that Byrnes had a spell, but im not as down on him as alot it seems. i agree with Ickey, his best work is off the ball, little things, and also he was burnt a couple of times last night, should have been given to him first option, but they didnt and then ended up getting it but it ws a poor handpass. But i do agree it might be time. Also, Salem has to play a full game now. Its time.
  5. Its a great idea, a night game before a public holiday is smart, people will go. This is forward thinking and a legit chance to get a big game. Anzac day is now a packed market.. look outside the square.. good job.
  6. sorry for confusion, Rusty,i will look for new avatar.
  7. Garry is a passionate Melbourne person and a great Ex player of this club, one who has suffered and bled and fought for it. He was an outstanding captain, was All Australian CHB and ALl Australian Fwd, one of his best games was in the centre against Essendon at Windy Hill. I think some people forget what a great player he was. Yes, he made some bad appointments, along with others, and as someone mentioned on here, he has admitted to them and takes responsiblity for them. He along with a great deal of others thought Neeld was great choice, it was widely applauded as a top choice for this club. it didnt work out and it has cost us no doubt. I know him personally, very well, so its no surprise that i will stick up for him, but he gives alot of his time to the club, loves the club. His job now is in the media, and its to be honest, which he is, his comments about the game against the SUns are echoed around the state, it was awful, not just Melbourne, but the suns to. It was awful footy, and there is alot of it going on. I think its time to stop the bagging of our ex players, criticise and objectively put forward opinions, but the out and out slagging is not what i associate Demons supporters with. We are better than that.
  8. Have spoken with a couple of people up nth at the Suns, when they said that M. Blight said he is the best jnr he has seen, its almost enough for me. Will be electric to watch.
  9. I went and watched training yesterday, have not done that for a long time, really enjoyed it. couple of things for what its worth. I really thought jack Trengove moved well, really well, looked like he was running ontop of the ground. Hogan moves well, and looks like he has been at the club for ages, comfortable, good signs. and Roosy just looks at home out there, vocal, encouraging.. commanding.
  10. Melbourne Football Club – Major Announcement The Melbourne Football Club will make a major announcement tomorrow at 8.45am. Peter Jackson and Paul Roos will be available to the media. Monday 18 November 8.45am AAMI Park Lecture Theatre (Access to the Theatre is via the side door in car park). Melbourne’s full playing list, including the new recruits, will train for the first time together following the announcement. Training vision is available from 9.30am on Gosch's Paddock. There you go.
  11. Any ideas? Sponsor.. Anyway assume its good news, PJ and PR will be fronting media Monday morning!
  12. Loosen up dude, just a thought, no need to be over the top with the Dramatics.
  13. I think #3 for Dom would be a nice little bit of synergy in the Garry Lyon coached him a Jnr..
  14. It another very important part of the cleansing process, a good, sustainble commerial realtionship that will provide stability. lets hope the team can make something happen, it would be quite debilitating to run out Round 1 without a Jumper sponsor.
  15. The guy ended up being a selfish self absorbed teammember who was not willing to do what the coach wanted right or wrong. Loved him for most of his time at teh club.. but someone needs to tell Brent that the Club is always bigger than the individual.
  16. The NAB Cup game will be against the Tigers.
  17. its a good point, we do lack a natural crumbing fwd, but do they offer and warrant a position. They need to do more than 7 touches and 2 shots at goal these days. Kieran Harper as an example. Brandon Matera is one that has potential to be a a very smart goal kicking small fwd. WE dont really have one, i liked Kents smarts and nouse when he was down there at times..
  18. Was told that this was one of the first thing Roosy did, talk with Tyson's management.. was bubbling away for weeks. i know that family, they are terrific people. its a great Deal for the Demons!
  19. Lyon was a superstar.. no doubt about it. If he was a player today he would be very well regarded.. Jeremy cameron is someone i look at and think he has Lyon like qualities. Great on the lead, really good below his kness, can play small, tall, defend or fwd. Cameron better overhead! Lyon won 6 All Aus selections, 2 of them as a CHB the rest as a Fwd. He won the equivilent of the NAB rising Star in 1986 - The Norwich rising star, represented and captained Victoria, Captained our club and is widely regarded as a great captain, in what was a great era, Coached Australia, kicked bags of 70+ 2 years in a row, including 10 in a final.. make no mistake he was superstar, and one wonders what we could have been if his back held up. Before Lyon there was Robbie.. he was an out and out superstar of the game. Cannot deny that. Others we had that were close, Stynes, Neitz, Schwartz.. I agree, though, it is time for a A grader..
  20. Jade is contracted.. One very important reason he is there.. I hear he is well regarded with playing group though.. But it's a no from me for Senior gig.
  21. While I am confident in the Roos plan, it is a bit if a worry, great assistants, like coaches, do not grow on trees. Looks like a year without a senior assistant.. I'm not sure I like that!
  22. Toumpas like in class.. maybe bit quicker. He is small though..
